New York City limits juice in day cares

Health officials in New York City are cutting the amount of just (juice) that can be served in day care centers and raising the age of children who can drink it.

In new rules published this week, the Health Code limits the amount of juice a child can drink a day at 4 ounces. The old rules allowed 6 ounces a day.

Children must now also be 2-years-old to be served juice. The old rules allowed children as young as 8-months old to be served juice.

The city cites USDA recommendations that the majority of a child's recommended fruit servings should come from whole fruit.

The new rules also cut the amount of educational TV viewing for children from 60 minutes a day to 30. Also, children under the age of 2 are not allowed any TV viewing time.

The rules also require that children not be allowed to remain sedentary or to sit passively for more than 30 minutes at a time except during nap time.

The health department says the rule changes are aimed at combating early childhood obesity.

It’s a good thing that there is no crime or real problems in NY now.

Finally, they can get down to the important business or regulating juice for toddlers.

Soon, New York City will require everyone to permanently reside in egg-like personal cocoons in which no movement is allowed, your bodily-functions and nutrition are attended to automatically (and carefully monitored), and if you are the 1% that works, you telework from your cocoon.

And even then, some Bloomberg-like tyrant will try to take some more freedom from you.

Cattle prod will keep those young slugs moving. No lolly gagging in NY daycares.

I love that picture. I can just imagine the conversation.

“Wait, it’s spelled how? You have to be joking, right. I spent all morning on this sign.”

I agree with you. The problem is that mothers must work and unlike the days when I was a lass, families live miles apart or they are dysfunctional. In my day my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all lived in the same neighborhood, so any of them could babysit if necessary. If worse came to worse, we also had neighbors with children around my age whom my parents knew and trusted. Today I wouldn’t trust my neighbors.

I don’t know what the answer is.

According to the parenthetical statement, he is mostly angry about Zionist Juice. I didn’t know that OJ was a Zionist.

As a nurse, we offer apple juice to patient’s post operatively. I find straight juice is too sweet and frequently results in nausea, if not “tossing the cookies”. I mix it with water, or club soda and am asked frequently, where do you get this juice, its so good. I joke that I make it myself.

“Children must now also be 2-years-old to be served juice.”

What if they look younger than 2, do they have to show ID?

This is starting to get out of control.
