Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz announced that he will run for president in 2016 via a Twitter post early Monday, becoming the first major candidate to officially declare.

"I'm ready to stand with you to lead the fight," Cruz says as the video concludes. Shortly after midnight Monday, the campaign had launched its website

Cruz had been expected to make the official announcement later Monday during a speech at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. He is expected to start his campaign immediately rather than launch an exploratory committee, which many do as a precursor to a campaign.

Cameron is such a bald-faced sniveling dimokrat he just can’t help himself. I hit the TIVO loop forward every time he shows up.

Oh there will be some RNC stabbing. It was a hoot to watch the other Pubbies stammer and blabber about their “exploration committees” after Cruz announced. All that foot shuffling by Bush and the rest has to end quickly or they can kisstheirasses goodbye. Leadership is indeed making your move and leaving no doubt about it-—not making speeches and “exploring”.

Sure hope this doesn’t turn into Walker Vs Cruz bloodbath.. and they can somewhat work with each other thru the primaries..

I’m worried Walker Vs Cruz = Bush = shi!sammichx2..

I like them both and think either way you put that ticket would be gravy...

I heard when Cruz announced, Walker said something negative about .... Jeb Bush, so I think the two can, reasonably speaking, get along okay.
