Major Jewish groups expressed outrage on Thursday over a comparison between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Palestinian leader and arch-terrorist Yassar Arafat that was printed in New York Magazine.
“It’s outrageous,” Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League, told The Algemeiner. “To compare a democratically reelected prime minister of Israel to a terrorist; to a murderer. It’s outrageous. It’s just outrageous.”
The New York Magazine article, which was published on Thursday, focuses on US-Israel relations and how a change in the alliance “may be inevitable” following Tuesday general election win by Netanyahu’s Likud party. The piece cited Netanyahu’s now famous pre-election assertion that the implementation of the “two-state solution” is not practical at this time, though he later told NBC News, “I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution.”
New York Magazine writer Jonathan Chait charged that with such a move, “Netanyahu is reprising tactics employed for years by Yasser Arafat, who would issue maximal demands in Arabic and follow them with conciliatory remarks to the foreign press.”
Chait added: “Netanyahu may be best understood as Israel’s Arafat — a master of nationalist politics, yet also disastrously lacking any strategic vision, and able to survive only at the deep and possibly fatal cost to his own people’s long-term aspirations.”

i know this is forbidden, but i can’t hold my tongue. when the msm was in israel’s corner, (somehow that changed, whether it is because of obama or not), nobody could say anything. and certainly not that the founder of israel was wanted as a terrorist by great britain. so, instead of tackling that issue, it was off limits, and now some people are taking their shots at bibi as payback.
I’m second generation Christian born of a strong Jewish heritage ... no they won’t. I’m still in touch with many of my Jewish cousins and they are more interested in their financial future and they believe that it is better served with the Democrats.
It’s a good thing that the British Government didn’t succeed in turning the Palestine Mandate (meant to be a Homeland for the Jews) into an ARAB STATE.
Considering that the British Government put the Jews escaping from Europe, after the war, into British Concentration Camps, instead of letting them into the “land of Israel, it’s amazing that the Jews didn’t do more against the British OPPRESSION of the Jews, in which Britian tried creating an Arab State!
We all could use a pretty stiff wake-up call.

Jews are coming to the politically inconvenient fact that a large percentage of the Democratic Party not only despises Netanyahu but is anti Zionist. If an honest poll were taken in the remaining Democratic congressional districts, there would be more support and sympathy for Palestine than Israel. Obama’s policies and attitude are not happening in a political or social vacuum. The reelection of a Democratic Administration in 2016 will be very problematic for Israel.

It’s more than that. It’s a socialist connection to the party which drives them. The Upper East Side Jewish person(I refuse to call them Jews) writes the check to the Israel fund once a year and they think that gives them the right to debate Israel’s future.
I lived with these people in Israel. That’s how they think.
