And car washes. I wonder if this will cover golf caddies - not a golfer so have no idea if the good ones already make $15 or even more.

Idicocracy was supposed to be a comedy, not a documentary.

For the general FYI, here’s the dingbat mayor’s page trumpeting his role in pushing the wage hikes through:

http://murray.seattle.gov/minimumwage/#sthash.dWINHh68.dpbs

“Shortly after taking office, Mayor Murray formed the Income Inequality Advisory Committee (IIAC) to address a cornerstone priority of an opportunity agenda”

Ah-huh. Real genius there, sparky.

BTW, check out the posters/placards in the pic at the site. I keep looking for the hammer and sickle, yeesh!

RE: Of course, the other kind of restaurant that will thrive will the ones that depend on illegals working off the books.

That’s the plan my friend. Why do you think our esteemed president is so adamant about amnesty?

It’s evident that those Demoncrats don’t have a clue about economics. They never think of the consequences of their “feel good policies.” Neither do they have a clue how a business is run and operated. Seems to me this should be a litmus test for elected officials. Sigh, I can dream, can’t I? I also wonder how many of these business owners voted for their own demise at the voting booth?”

The owner of Cupcakes Royale supported the raise in the minimum wage as well as the Safe and Stay program to allow paid time off for workers facing various domestic problems.

She has now realized that she cannot afford to open a previously planned new Seattle shop.

Out flapping her gums before somebody, probably her accountant, penciled out the deal for her.

No problem. Obama can just Executive Order those restaurants back open.

This is doubly damning on the law because lower gasoline prices have aided the restaurant biz (at least folks I talk to here in Indiana who operate them say that).

Hi guy, I hope you are doing well.

No problem. Obama can just Executive Order those restaurants back open.

liberals have no understanding of economics. my cousin through bad luck and bad decisions ended up homeless and living on the streets, he recently got a job at a restraint making minimum wage. this job is helping him to get back on his feet financially. he wont be staying at this job unless he can get into management. the point is at 15 dollars an hour the job he just got would not exist and he would not be given the opportunity to prove that he is willing to work. he would be stuck homeless and on the streets because of this job he can look for something belter and eventually be financially stable. most people that see a raise in the minume wage as good do not realize that everytime that the minumu wage goes up it hurts those at the bottom end of the wage earning. what itb doesb is wipe out any wage increase given to someone that has started working at minimum wage and has received a raise.. the other thing it does is cause rents to rise and the price to go up on any low end item. the reason being is that the market will charge what ever they think it will bear. another place it hurts the general public is anyone living on a fixed retirement. because of the inflation caused by minimum wage going up everything becomes more expensive to do. I personally think that the democrats big plan to get rid of the national debt iscause inflation to devalue the money owed to the banks

Idiocracy would be preferable to live in. Fools who are celebrating open foolishness is better than smarmy smart alecks.

“You browse the drinks and food on the touch screen, place your order, swipe your card, and a short while later somebody strolls up with your food and beverage, says hello and drops them off. It’s a terribly impersonal service as compared to a bartender or waitress who stops to chat with you, but it gets the job done.”

This is the easiest way to replace Americans with Third Worlders...

That’s right; it won’t raise Americans’ wages (in fact, it will cost them their jobs), but it will swell the underground economy. We’ll still pay for everything for our underground economy’s workers, but there will be less of us (American taxpayers) contributing...

I may be wrong, but when the workers lose their jobs and go on unemployment, the state pays and not just Seattle?

Will those people who lost their jobs because of the pay mandated increase picket the restaurant that closed or the politicians that voted for the increase?

I hope they express their gratitude to the politicians that put a halt to their exploitation by below-$15 hourly wages. /s
