How expensive must it be to eat out in cities like Seattle.

How insanely expensive must it be to live n cities like that.

Why do I get the feeling the social crusaders who pushed the wage increase will push something even more nutty in response to this?

Oh right, because I’ve read Atlas Shrugged.

An early post indicated that some restaurants were choosing to relocate outside the area covered by the law. The thing that gets me is the fact that it is somehow legal for the city to dictate wages via fiat.
Using robotics to cut costs almost removes forthwith the reason for dinning out. This may work for fast food chains, but not white tablecloth restaurants.

$15/hr but no jobs. That is how liberalism works.

“Washington Restaurant Association’s Anthony Anton puts it this way: “It’s not a political problem; it’s a math problem.”

Disagree. When problem people hold political office, and expect the rest of us to take their driveling as law, math problems inevitably ensue.

Figuring this out isn’t rocket science. If they’re dumb enough to think $15/hr makes sense, then surely $50/hr makes more sense. Clearly, the state would be the best place on earth to work in a restaurant if they raised it to $1000/hr...why, they might even have a surplus of waiters at that wage! Oh...wait...they already do.

The idiots who passed this are liberals.

Liberals don’t understand business or economics.

Liberals think you can just pass a law, and that there will be no consequences for anyone when such law is passed.

The liberals think that “greedy” small business owners make too much money from their businesses, and that if there are consequences, it would be that the greedy business owner doesn’t make as much. But in liberal land, that consequence is ok.

Liberals don’t stop to think that there could be job losses, or that a business can’t simply increase their prices to compensate for mandates that cause their costs of doing business to increase.

The fine residents of Seattle voted the $15 minimum wage without gradually raising it from where it is now. They should be thrilled to pay more so the less fortunate can have more take home pay.

OK, why stop a $15.00? Why not $20.00?

Sometimes I wonder if this isn’t all the execution of a fantasy by wealthy liberals. You know, the John Kerrys, the Liawatha Warrens, the Streisands, etc.

Raise the minimum wage enough and there will be two types of restaurants. One that has waitstaff that are very well paid and exorbitant prices. The wealthy libs eat there. The rest of us get automated kiosks in “restaurants” run by two or three employees (cook, cleaner and “everything else” guy).

I’ve always thought that one of the reasons the wealthy left despises the middle class so is because if they thrive they might want to join their ranks and mingle.

Question will be: Will those people who lost their jobs because of the pay mandated increase picket the restaurant that closed or the politicians that voted for the increase?
