I would suggest that this is because the majority of top scientists working on the bomb were Jewish. The United States received a massive windfall of top talent from European Jews fleeing the anti-semitism of Nazi Germany.
There is an excellent book on the topic called "The Making of the Atomic Bomb" by Richard Rhodes. I urge anyone who hasn't read it to get a copy and read it.
I think a lot of the older Jews have some bad memories about Christians forcing them to say Christian prayers in Public schools, and other humiliations along these lines. I've spoken with some who remember this and still resent the h3ll out of it.
Given that most families stick with whatever party their parents belonged to, it's not unusual that old animosities carry on into subsequent generations.

Rhodes’ two books and all the info on the spies was where I got most of my info from, he spent a LOT of time in “Dark Sun” on it, almost too much.
Well, finally some source material - thank you! I'll grant you, that was insulting; and I think he should take it back. Trump is a clown even though he brings in some truth to ponder; but his clownishness takes away from that truth. Palin is no clown, and for Shapiro to compare Palin to that clown is insulting. I'll still listen to Shapiro, but I'll be more attentive to what he says. I still don't think he "hates" Palin though.
That just proves that he's a douchebag without any opinion worth hearing. Anyone who's that bad a judge of character has no place at the grown-ups' table.
Now what post 37 offers is what you should have offered in the first place. This shows your point, and now I see it. Shapiro is a schmuck; just like most NE Republicans. In Tucson, one of our morning conservative hosts, Garrett Lewis is Jewish, a terrific Sunday interview host, Charles Heller is Jewish, the head of our Republican party is Jewish, my former representative is Jewish, the rabbi of of the Oro Valley Chabad reads Dennis Prager, and my conservative/ libertarian husband is Jewish, and he raised two conservative girls and converted his ex-wife and in-laws into conservatives. His father was registered Democrat, but never voted for one.
There were lots of interesting theories on this post. Will save for further discussion with my husband.

The Biggest surprise I got from "Dark Sun, the Making of the Hydrogen bomb" was that Curtis LeMay was very close to committing Treason, if he didn't actually cross the line.
It's astonishing that he was ordering flights over the Soviet Union and not informing the President about them. It actually caused a pretty serious incident when Eisenhower was made to look foolish as a result.
But I find myself agreeing with Curtis LeMay's assessment. We should have hit the communists back in the early fifties and avoided all the potential dangers we subsequently faced.
And like I stated, I get tired of people downing other conservatives without any data to back up what they say.
Did you give supporting data to back up your accusation? NO! Your point of "hate" by Shapiro of Palin was not supported until post 37 - which was not your post.
It would be best for you to bring supporting data to back up any accusation you make "from the get go".
The only way to describe these American Jews is “DUMB & STUPID”. They totally distrust the CHRISTIANS, especially the “TEA PARTY” Christians,. Truth be told, these are the most fervent backers of Israel and the Jews, out side of that country. If they had any sense at all, they’d be forming a coalition with them. But, as they say, STUPID IS WHAT STUPID DOES.
