Democrats' only choice? Defend Hillary Clinton

Democrats don't actually have the luxury of standing by and seeing how this all plays out. Hillary Clinton is their candidate; their putative nominee. Over the past six years, there's been a sharp structural decline of elected Democrats everywhere below the presidential level. Sure, we all know about how the Republicans regained control of the Senate in 2014, but what about the fact that blue-state governors fell like tent poles? Or that GOP governors now outnumber the Democrats by almost two-to-one, 31 to 18. Or that Republicans have complete control of nearly three times as many state legislatures as the Democrats, 30 to 11. And down the ballot, Democrats under Obama have lost more than 900 state legislative seats: the worst showing of any modern president. That's eye-popping.

Obama was the ONE (and only ONE.) Now we are being told Hillary is the ONE (and only ONE.) There must be some reserves on the Democrat bench. And I do not mean Elizabeth (Dances with Fractions) War-Hen nor do I mean Mark O’Malley. How about Jim Webb or Harry Reid or Diane Feinstein or Barbara Boxer or Nancy Pelosi Galore or Debbie Wash-yer-mouth Schultz. Yes, most of those people would make poor candidates, but that is not my fault. The Democrats have destroyed their bench depth and have disassociated themselves from the rank-and-file mistaking the very vocal villains on the far left for rank-and-file Democrats.

How many seats do we have to win before it occurs to Democrats that the golden age of liberal elites is O-VAR?

I can see it now... Republicans control every seat in Congress except 12 - and the Presidency AND most of the Supreme Court and some Democrat will go on CNN and lecture a Republican about what the Republican should do and not do to win elections.

Given the extremely high black turnout was the only thing that got Obama elected (and Dems saw what a disaster midterms were) I wouldn’t count out Cory Booker. He’s young and black. Blacks would turnout.

Hillary is a terrible candidate. She can’t do an interview without a huge easy-to-disprove lie. She’s not attractive. Her voice is annoying and her laugh is worse. The more you see of her (and there’s more to see every year) the less you like her.

The NY SLIMES story was a signal that the powers that run things realize Hillary needs to go. That was a light shove for her and Bill to step aside. If they don’t get the message, look for things to get worse. There are way too many buried bodies out there (Bill’s underage girls, Hillary’s home computer loaded with top secret documents, lying about Benghazi and God knows what else, etc.) for them not to be able to put the squeeze on.

They’ll find a woman or black or Hispanic and try to sell that person as the “next Obama.”
