This is more a testament to a focused public relations triumph of a lobby that as recently as 2 decades ago would have hooted at the very idea. And it still will not sell well from the viewpoint of how many will do it.
I think it sold as well as it did because straights were already well asleep at the wheel. They didn’t care about shack ups. So what did they have to oppose these proposals with? Nothing but hypocrisy would have been left.

I fail to see where that can be construed as love. I guess I am just an old prude.
Unfortunately the battle for the protection of marriage was lost about 50 years ago with the popularization and acceptance of divorce. When marriage became a flexible agreement it lost it’s sanctity. First came divorce and serial marriages, then open marriages, and marriages of convenience. Once the foundation was lost, the structure was bound to crumble. This is just the last straw (let’s hope it doesn’t get any better).
When dignity is lost for profit.
For the corporations it’s all about avoiding trouble, saving money, and making life easier at the HR office. Amorality rules.
For years, I used to be one of the biggest “buy American” proponents around, but this cured me. Corporate America’s embrace of this depraved degeneracy has shown me the depths it has succumbed to, and revealed just what an enemy it has become to everything I value and believe in.
I wonder how long until these firms say “sign that you agree with this PC list of beliefs or you will not remain employed”.
I see one of the Koch Brothers has signed onto this effort.
