Don’t worry about der Rushmeister. He’ll find a station very happy to pick him up.
Yeah, that WOULD be better.......
Then you don't listen to much radio because that is the current style of delivering Ads which all radio personalities are using today.
I dropped WLS when they fired Dick Biondi.
Free Republic isn’t an entertainment outlet (as Rush is); I’m not a huge fan of Rush, but he can be VERY entertaining.
Good retort! Bet you rocked it in the debating club way back when.
Everything Rush says could be condensed into a one hour, maybe an hour and a half, program.
No need to over analyze or repeat basically the same information each hour.
Which almost all, if not all, radio talk shows do.
Most conservatives keep up with the current events so were already on the same page.
I always liked it when Rush, or really any host, comes at whats happening from a different angle than i thought of.
I just think they could do it in half the time?
The commercials throughout are getting to me, too, especially since he started doing the books. Aside from the normal commercial breaks, he’ll do several live minutes on Lifelock or something else, then he’ll take a call from some little girl and let her shill his books for five to ten minutes, before rewarding her with a signed copy and audio version. It’s a little much.
Rush goes up against a local talker - troubleshooter. I choose the local show every time. No real politics, but people with problems call him and they tell the callers whether they are nuts or whether they have been truly wronged.
Just yesterday this guy called because his daughter bought a house 3 months ago, and on the inspection report it was noted the sewer line was clear, free of obstruction. But they had to have it cleaned, to the tune of $5000. Great listening, learn so much.
Rush has been a bore for years.
Rush has been very acute in analyzing the Marxism of the Illegal-Alien-in-Chief, but ZERO COURAGE. When the Illegal Alien came out with the crudely forged “birth certificate,”
Rush (and Sean and Mark) took the safe route.
Proof that having $500 million doesn’t buy courage.
Rush doesn’t do funny bits anymore, no parodies, no funny songs (to speak of), etc. Rush has tens of millions of former listeners.
I was always one of those “stick-to-the-issues” people! The people who hated it when Rush would spend an hour name-dropping and droning on about the PGA or the NFL.
No one who depends on advertisers is going to tell the truth about the Illegal-Alien-in-Chief. That’s why no “conservative” on radio or cable has ever talked about the crudely-forged “birth certificate” that bears the typefaces of six different typewriters, or any other part of the mountain of evidence that the entire Democrat party is a treasonous conspiracy that has put an illegal alien in the WH.
Do you trust the source to be honest? Could there be an agenda from “higher up”?
LS appears to be getting desperate, and if they drop Rush, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them go on life support.
Proft and Wolf were great for local stuff; Roeper was a predictable leftie, but I liked Conn, who was all over the place but could be amusing in a wacky sort of way. Kass was not made for radio, but one could count on him to tell it like it is, and he was one of the few voices in the city with any influence who had the guts to call out the Machine at both the city and state level. Interesting how he got his pink-slip just as Rahm was being shown he might be on the way out the door.
They’re all gone, replaced by Dahl, who is well-past his sell-by date, along with his posse of mindless toadies; most of the rest of the day is a bunch of non-entities. How the station expects to draw ears without Rush as its anchor is beyond me, but they’re clearly not doing anything to retain any conservative listenership he might bring in.
I have fond memories of the music-based WLS AM battling WCFL for audience - it now looks like they’re trying their best to follow WCFL to the radio graveyard.
His most likely sucessor will be Mark Steyn. He is very promising, his comments have zing in them.
Rather I see a lot of options, earth radio still, online, satilite, etc.
Their conservatve line up since the passing of Don Wade and Roma on their am line up has drastically changed to Pablum Phouie. Out in the hinterlands one use to be able to tune to AM 890 and its 50K nighttime signal strength came in 5X5. Now its weak snd only buildsup after 9pm well after sundown and fades around 4am so badly that you can hear crosstalk from some station . I noticed the same thing on WJR am 760 both Cummulus owned stations.
Yet for some reason they have left conservative folks such as Mark Levin ALONE.............Hmmmmmmm.
