No group capable of 9/11-type attack, but could take down airliner: Ex-CIA chief

Right now, there isn’t a terrorist group out there capable of killing thousands of Americans with a 9/11-type attack — but it’s possible one could get the weapons to shoot down an airliner.

That was the dire warning the former acting director of the CIA gave Tuesday to the NYPD.

Notice the apparent stupidity of this former CIA director.

He says that no group could carry out an attack like 9/11 to kill thousands, but they could get the weapons necessary to shoot down airliners.

HELLO?

If Jihadists shot down, say, 4 airliners over populated areas upon take-off from airports with MANPADS, does he not realize how many could die?

Am I missing something here???

Idiots are enabling terrorism while doing
NOTHING to protect Americans. NOTHING.

FACT:
Boston Marathon Atrocity - terrorists did not even need
a PASSPORT - even after DHS was warned IN ADVANCE.

“There is nobody in the world today who has the capability to bring complex sophisticated, simultaneous attacks to our homeland that kill thousands,”...Al Qaeda had it once, “but they do not have it today, thanks to U.S. counterterrorism operations,”...iit would take Al Qaeda just “three years” to pose that kind of threat again....Another big worry is that terrorist outfits like the Al Qaeda-affiliated Khorasan Group in Syria or the Yemen-based Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula could get their hands on enough firepower to shoot down jetliners.

Was this talk given three years ago? Does he not eve read newspapers? The “Khorasan Group”? Hasn’t some other nasty bunch arisen that has a billion dollar “budget,” stolen refineries, and no compunction so about perpetrating the worst evils known to man and God?

He seems woefully ignorant, as usual.

Romulus Michigan. I was sitting in a parking lot one day waiting for someone and watching the big jets lumbering into the air overhead about a 1000 feet overhead.

Note Middlebelt road is where the big crash happened back in the 80s that left one surviving toddler.

Not to mention that shooting down multiple airliners would bring commercial flight to a grinding halt and consequently, the economy. This has far greater potential consequences than the death and destruction.

I call BS

Takes manpads to shoot down an airliner.

Hijacking only takes an open cockpit door

Didn’t realize that that occurred on Middlebelt. That’s where the rental cars are, isn’t it?

“..there isn’t a terrorist group out there capable of killing thousands of Americans with a 9/11-type attack.”

Hellooooo!! Anyone with half a brain knows that is a blatant lie!!!

Not only terrorist groups such as ISIS,AQ and Taliban, but also the “axis of evil” nations - Iran, Syria and North Korea can pull off a major terrorist happening.

These jokers are taunting the enemy to attack. If the CIA is working from this joker’s mind-set, we are in bigger trouble than I thought.

Let’s see. 9/11 was accomplished by flying airliners into buildings.
I wonder if a little-bitty dirty bomb set off by a Latino looking guy from (oh say) the Mideast, who snuck over the southern border, in say Phoenix or Houston or LA would qualify as 9/11-type attack.
Just wondering.

Remember that sniper and kid that drove around randomly shooting people? They nearly paralyzed portions of the East Coast from what I remember. Think of just ten terrorists just like that—snipers who kill people at random and drive away before authorities can react. One doesn’t need weapons of mass destruction or bring down aircraft to cause fear and panic and harm the economy.

I would never, ever underestimate people like ISIS. A small number of terrorists who are willing to die for their cause can cause incredible damage well out of proportion to the actual threat. Just think about how much 9-11 has cost us beyond the actual damage done: the freedom lost, the money spent, the fear generated.

No. I would not underestimate the terrorists, “junior varsity” or not!

Was it 30,000 Manpads that went missing from Libya?

I wonder why the Obama regime is showing contempt of Congress rather than let the truth be known about what was going on in Benghazi... I wonder why the witnesses were given new identities in order to obstruct justice...

And gee, I wonder if this lawlessness on the part of the regime could put the country in danger....

Obama is a foreign enemy combatant who was illegally placed into our White House through a coup that included taking the entire political system and media hostage. He was put there by his Islamist and communist buddies over a lifetime, for the purpose of destroying this country.

Everything he’s done and everything we see going on around us makes sense when you realize that.

I dunno. Sounds like a sham to strip law-abiding Americans of some of their 2nd amendment rights. It’s always a lie with these people.

I remember some bit about the pilots taking off with the flaps up; the young girl who survived (I believe her entire immediate family was on the plane and they were all killed) was interviewed a few years ago. The media had respected her privacy while she was underage but I guess she decided it was time to speak out.

There is a hell of a lot of trouble “they” could cause if they could act simultaneously. Think about it. It could be in your own neighborhood. It’s a scary thought that most of us don’t want to think about.
