Yeah I voted if someone is on my property trying to break in...and get off my lawn!

You are kidding. You really want to acquiesce to answer a poll whose authors intent had nothing do do with the truth? A joke on us all.

Are you a government agent? Or other operative?

Why would you ask this question?

A) If someone was in my house.

Now if B was someone in the act of stealing and driving away in my vehicle or my neighbor’s, the correct answer would also be B. (And legal in my state - stopping a felony).

I'd ask if they were a Democrat. Their future would be contingent on their politics.

Hey! The poll is from Palm Springs. How can I consider it seriously?

Actually, in CA the legal answer is C. But a and b are generally considered grounds for c.

Geez, it’s just an internet poll to FReep. Nothing more, nothing less.

(E) You're standing in my driveway.

Ammunition is very expensive. I no longer fire a warning shot first.

You inside my property line, look out!
You inside my dog pen, look out!
You inside my attack cat pen, look out!
You inside my door, Look out!
If you carry of my goods, I am unarmed.
If you are carried out feet first you don’t need to know.

So why don’t you try and see if you are carried out!

“(And legal in my state - stopping a felony).”

That’s the key point everyone needs to know - what is legal in your state. Here in Virginia, C is the correct answer (actual or reasonable fear of imminent grievous injury to self or others), but A or B are legal in other states. Maryland, for example, allows deadly force to protect property.

If the intruder is already inside you are most likely toast especially if its a forced home invasion. The odds of harm coming to you once they have breached the door is sigifantly higher and many of them are not only there to burglarize the home but to do harm to its occupants. Lookup Ricardo Ramirez (Night Stalker) and see what did once he obtained ebtry and you will never a door unlocked ever again. Ever.

I’d say it’s discretionary

Could be simply on your property if they are more than just simple trouble

Could be a drunk dumbass in your home subdued short of killing him

Could be you have pissed off a nutty badass who has made threats or who has a track record of kills....you gonna just sit there waiting scared

Freepers like neat rules of engagement to puff up over

I’ve lived some of this

Common sense and realism and preparedness

Reliable arms and good dogs ...it’s the bet you can do
