Mitt Romney Not Running for President in 2016
Fox Nation ^ | January 30, 2015

Posted on 01/30/2015 9:59:47 AM PST by Kaslin

Mitt Romney announced Friday he will not run for president in 2016, after briefly flirting with a third White House run -- a decision that only slightly narrows the crowded field of potential Republican candidates.

"After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, I've decided it's best to give other leaders in the party the opportunity to become our next nominee," Romney told donors on a conference call Friday morning.

The announcement comes after the 2012 GOP nominee, who repeatedly denied interest in another campaign, surprised donors earlier this month by telling them he was considering it.

Since then, the former Massachusetts governor spent three weeks calling donors and strategists and giving a handful of addresses, including to a Republican National Committee summit. But while some from his former campaign team were willing to wait for his decision, others were already gravitating toward the budding campaign of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Mike Lee will have a real struggle to win reelection to the Senate in 2016, which could be an historic Democrat year.

Wow. I was right for once.

I'd like to say it's because of superior pundit skills, but I guess it was just dumb luck.

I don't know if the talk that Mitt was running was a ploy he worked out with Jeb to blindside Christie or if his head was momentarily turned by all the attention, but if somebody says "No. No. No. No. No. No. No." it's better than even odds that they may actually mean "No."

I like what he said.

What he actually does may be at total odds with what he said in which case I'll be calling him "Willard" with the rest of you.

Somebody better check in on ahab12 and see how he's doing.

I heard he lost all focus in his life and questioned the meaning of existence.

Or maybe we should worry for whoever his next target is.

Now if we can just get all the conservatives behind Cruz like the leftist GOPE is backing Jeb we could see a real campaign in 2016

"But wait! Palin's getting in! But wait! Walker's got executive experience! Let's tear one another apart and dilute the field for the next RINO-in-waiting!"

Wow, "'cause if I ran, they wouldn't stand a chance. The primary process would have been just a formality." ;')

Now his money and support will just gravitate around RINO Bush, that is not good for our cause or the party.

Mitt will be the Next Sec. of State—He speaks French and that seems to be a requirement. A good man—with poor people skills. There should be much happiness in the world of the Free Republic! Now we will get another RINO shoved down our throats—President Jeb Bush anyone? President Christie Cream? President Santorum? President McCain?

I heard he lost all focus in his life and questioned the meaning of existence.

One would think that he would be out celebrating, but to be honest, I am a little worried. I haven't heard from him since I reminded him that we were on the same side and told him that I loved him. It seemed like the Christian thing to do, but he may have taken it wrong.

I would not support any man who supports amnesty for the millions of line cutters or any other form of Open Borders without the compete abolition of the welfare state.

That would be a betraile of the 10 of millions of people who respect our laws in favor of 10s of millions of people who have already demonstrated otherwise.

For that reason I could not support Scott walker.

There can be no conservative movement if your going to replace conservatives with foreign imports.

HA! Just got this in an email... Meeting between Mitt and Jeb: Jeb: You don't want to run do you? Mitt: Well I have been planning on it, I think I can win this time. Jeb: You DON'T WANT TO RUN DO YOU? Mitt: Well I WAS planning on running. Jeb: Tell you what, I will select you as my VP and your first born child can go on living. Mitt: Well now that you put it that way, VP sounds pretty good. Jeb: Yes, well you can be in charge of my coronation..opps, I meant inauguration.

You’re full of it and you need to do something about your mrds. He kept his word because he said in the fall of 2014 numerous times that he wasn’t going to run. It’s just the media speculated that he was going to run and now you are speculating that he will change his mind

In 2008 I voted for Mitt Romney in 2008 in the TN primaries but not in the General Election

In 2012 I voted for him in the General election and don't regret it. I always vote for the nominee because I don't see any reason to vote for some third party candidate who has absolutely no chance of getting elected. I also refuse to sit the election out because some might not like the nominee. Voting for a third party candidate or staying home means votes for the rat candidate, may it be Hillary or Fauxtahona Warren
