A brawl broke out during a meeting to discuss the conduct of police in the city where riots erupted after a black teenager was shot dead by a white officer.
The audience grew restless as police officers spoke out against a proposed civilian oversight board that would examine the force's actions in future at St Louis City Hall.
Missouri state Republican Jeff Roorda, who is also business manager of the city's police union, reportedly became involved in a slanging match with meeting chairman Terry Kennedy.
Roorda, who was said to have been wearing a wristband in support of Darren Wilson, the ex-police officer who shot Michael Brown, then allegedly pushed a black woman as a melee erupted.
Video of the fracas reveals someone in the crowd shouting abuse at Roorda, telling him: 'You white supremacist motherf*****. Get the f*** out of here, man!'

Wearing a Darren Wilson wristband to this particular meeting is akin to wearing a “FREE MUMIA!” wristband to a police convention.
You don’t do this kind of thing without expecting a reaction.
The police union jerk failed to exercise sound judgment and he needs to be ousted from his position and from his police job if he has one.
What the heck is a slanging match?
That comes right before the “yo Mama’s so fat....”
It’s a slang thang.
I’m guessing the difference between a grand jury and a civilian oversight board is that felons may be seated on the latter.
Why let the facts get in the way of a good narrative.
Unless there are photos of him actually wearing it, I'm not even nibbling at that allegation.
What I will say is this, everyone has the RIGHT to FREE expression...I don't give a damn if it causes your knickers to twist into all kinds of wierd shapes...
What's next, can't wear a ball cap with an American flag on it because some moslem slime or mexican illegal is celebrating some made up foreign celebration?
Oh wait, in certain parts of America, one can't wear a shirt with American flags on them on 5 May...so that might not be too far off.
Darren Wilson performed his duty and did society a favor by taking out the trash who accosted and assaulted him.
What the officer in question is doing by wearing that wrist band [if he in fact did] is REMINDING people that if it weren't for a legitimate investigation, Darren Wilson would have been railroaded by the Just'us Dept and that feckin' moron in the WH.
Any one of our names could just as easily be on the wrist band and I'd damn sure hope people would support me if I were at risk of being railroaded to further a narrative and agenda.
What is it with these people? Can’t even have an honest debate. All they know is power and how to stomp people down. It is indicative of low intelligence.
Yes, he was wearing the bracelet. Officer Wilson was attacked by a thug who had just robbed a store and assaulted a minority shopkeeper. Thankfully he was able to stop him before he was able to get his gun. Why shouldn’t he wear that bracelet?
And before you believe the “he went berserk and attacked a black woman” bs...Watch the video. The black woman hits him (intentionally or not) with her elbow, he pushes the elbow away, she goes all “O hell no” on him, and a shoving match commences.
I suspected as much about the confrontation, but couldn’t get the vid to play...thanks for the info.
A great way to end up dead or in jail is to go around thinking you can go crazy on someone because he expressed an idea you don’t like. That you don’t like but that the propriety and accuracy of which cannot be assailed.
The cop should be fired for wearing a bracelet with a person’s name on it?
Wow. I’m glad you’re not in charge.
All the time or none of the time. It it is good for thee it is good for me.
You dont do this kind of thing without expecting a reaction.

You are such a squishy sqush Megan. What is wrong with supporting a co-worker who has been wrongly accused and found un indictable for any offense by a grand jury and the thugs from DOJ? Grow up.
Seriously???? The police union rep can not wear a name in support of one of its officers that shot a thug attacking him? It is time to take a stand, not bow down to evil because it screams the loudest. If we do not use our free speech even when the other side does not like it we will lose it and the only voice allowed to speak will be evil.
that when someone said “haulin ass”, she had to make 3 trips
Yep. He should. Why? Because if YOU showed up at a meeting of mostly black agitators while wearing such a wristband that same cop would be very likely to arrest you for inciting a riot, disturbing the peace, trespassing, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest.
I'm simply applying the same standard to his behavior that we know he'd willingly apply to anyone else's behavior.
Oh, he has the right to do this but on his own time. Not at a meeting whose purpose was to calm people down and not to incite them even further.
I believe in free speech and I also believe in using good judgment. Especially when we’re talking about a member of law enforcement who’s supposed to be at the event to help calm people down, not to incite people.
If it’s of any consequence to you, I also believe he has the right to scream the word “N*gger” to his heart’s content.
But I’d also say that this might also be a bad idea at a meeting of black agitators.
!
These people need to calm themselves down. They're supposedly adults, right? Responsible for their own actions?
Are you saying that they're incapable of behaving like civilized, adult human beings?
