MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - "American Sniper" is tops at the box office but don't expect to see former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura lining up at a theater for it.
Ventura, a former Navy SEAL, won $1.8 million in a defamation lawsuit last year against the estate of the late Chris Kyle, the SEAL protagonist of the movie, which has sparked debate over whether snipers should be considered heroes. Ventura said Wednesday he won't see the film partly because Kyle is no hero to him.

Jesse has come on the Mike Trivisanno talk show here in Cleveland. He calls himself Mr. Blue, and they electronically try to disguise his voice. But he has such a unique way of speaking, that there’s no doubt it’s him. Totally wacky talking points. Makes me laugh. I emailed Mike, asking why he hid Jesse’s identity. Never back, but the next time he was on, they tried to electronically alter his voice even more. Funny!
In his radio talk show days, if memory serves...and I think it does, he preached that marijuana should be legalized while those who sold or used smoking tobacco should be tarred and feathered before they were drawn and quartered.
My wife wants to see the movie this weekend. So do I, but she suggested it last night. Ventura just gave me another reason to go.
I guess he objected to being called out for being a douchebag.
I tried to listen to his radio talk show in the 1980s, he has mush for a brain, but his bigger than life personality and ego, and whack conspiracies and theories, keeps him with a following.

Before you reply, I come from a long line of Norwegians, half of whom still reside in Minn’sota. They try really hard to be “nice.”
Ventura is a well-known Kyle hater and a grade A a$$.
That is complicated, Ventura was UDT and did not take the additional training to become a SEAL, but SEALs also trace themselves to UDT as their lineage, and in 1982 UDT was ended, and UDT merged with SEALs.
Today UDT can officially call themselves SEALs and wear the trident, but there is no question that Ventura was UDT in 1972, and did nt take the SEAL training after BUD/S, or serve as a SEAL, or with SEALs, and he never fought in Vietnam 'hunting men'. It's all kind of a mess, about you can do is have an opinion, but the arguing gets a little complicated.
Trivisanno is such a slob. I saw him at the St. Pattie’s parade about 10 years ago and he was greasy and bloated back then.
I can’t imagine he’d improve over the years, but I can’t imagine him any worse.

Seal Chief Kyle was a recognized warrior and patriot.
Lets leave it at that.
It’s not complicated at all.
When the UDT was merged into the Seals, Ventura had left the Navy.
His entire service was in the Philippines.
