Grocery stores in New York City and around the Northeast are being overrun and cleaned out as customers brace for a "potentially historic" snow storm set to bury the region.

Shoppers tweeted photos from checkout lines at stores throughout the Northeast using the hashtags #blizzardof2015 and #Snowmageddon2015:

..and here's proof! @WholeFoods more like wholezoo. #blizzardof2015 pic.twitter.com/XoixguYZrv — Teresa Priolo (@Fox5Teresa) January 25, 2015

That is what the Governors of the northeast are asking folks to do, stay off the roads so to let the roads get cleaned up.

I’d be more concerned about the liquor store.

Its a unstudied, but predictable phenomenon in which on come serve inclement weather triggers an insatiable desire for French Toast.

It’s had for those in the Midwest to imagine, but most of the urban dwellers don’t have much food in their homes.

A couple of my in-laws only have orange juice, coffee and cream in their kitchen. Before their last move to the Phoenix area, they got rid of all kitchen-ware except the coffee pot, four coffee cups, and four drinking glasses. They eat every meal out at restaurants, and he uses the kitchen for a workshop.

They were from Illinois, originally.

"I’d be more concerned about the liquor store."

I've heard tell that if you have taters and a 5 gallon bucket a coil of copper tubing with some fittings and a pressure cooker you don't need to go to the liquor store.

Of course I have absolutely no first-hand knowledge of such things...

Just sayin'

I guess the region did not get the memo concerning the “warmest” year on record. The cold hard facts is: it is cold but it seems the environmentalists live on another planet.

I find it hard to believe all those people actually had to go buy food. I look in my pantry and I have enough to last a month without having to go to the store.
