Exit polls suggest a historic victory for the anti-austerity Syriza party in Greece's general election.
The polls indicate that Syriza took between 36% and 38% of the total vote, with the ruling New Democracy party a distant second with 26%-28%.
It is unclear whether Syriza has enough votes to govern the country alone.

Add to Greece’s list of problems:
It’s an emerging hub for terrorists... so it also has an urgent security problem.
Greece has become an unwitting crossroads — both for jihadists trying to reach Iraq and Syria from Europe, and for fighters returning home from the Middle East.
it an inviting hub for jihadist groups, according to multiple counterterrorism sources.
“The large immigrant communities is Greece, and particularly in Athens, are in a position to provide jihadists and others associated with such groups with housing and generally help them remain anonymous,” the source said.
In 2011, Greek authorities detained nearly 50,000 illegal migrants from Afghanistan and Pakistan, according to police figures.
One analyst who has studied jihadist travel patterns says there are indications that militants are setting up logistical, recruitment and financial cells in Greece, in part to facilitate the travel of a growing number of would-be fighters traveling from Kosovo and Albania.

It appears the faggy centrists are the obvious choice for the Jr. coalition partner Syriza needs.

I don’t think they want to pay their debt so they’re going to renegotiate something rather than leave the EU....it’s like the little guy playing the big guy game....will depend on what they will live with or not...but they ain’t getting their life back the way they once knew...can’t happen.
lol
No. But they might get back the world their great-grandparents knew of small-holding and tenant agriculture.. No more jet-set rock'n'roll tattoo motorbike!
This is a Leftist trend sneaking up on the socialized world. Cuba is trying it, Coupla acres, coupla chickens, vegetable garden, little meat, collective ownership of machinery .... the wonderful brave new world of Permaculture.
Wait one on the EU. The way Muslim and other Third Worlders are inundating Europe is truly scary. E.G., in Italy, the Albanians are taking over entire country villages from which most of the inhabitants emigrated years ago. Even with their ancient housing and Mussolini-era utilities and paved roads, they are paradise compared to Albania! Or Syria. Or Pakistan. Or Ethiopia. The downside is the rural crime wave.
Well, at least they're honest in that country.
According to the U.S. media, there's no such thing as far left-wing. There's only "far right-wing" (Rick Santorum types), "right-wing" (John McCain types) and "moderate" (Ruth Bader Gisnburg types)
It's even worse in countries like Russia. 1st place is Putin's thug party (United Russia), 2nd place was the outright old style Soviet Communist hardliners. 3rd place was the extreme nationalist Russian NAZIs.
Well as I understand it Ultra leftist Syriza’s coalition is mad up of Trot-skyists, Maoists, eco-weenies and all to familiar Occupy types. Quite the crew and no wonder he likes to go without a tie.
Hee sounds more like Ol’ Obama....everythings going to be ‘FREE’. Since he’s promised to....’increase pensions’,....’hike minimum wage,..... expand their healthcare,.. give free electricity to 300,000 households...... and re-nationalise a huge chunk of the economy.
So while he’s doing all these FREE give aways he expects overseas creditors to offer Greece better terms on their billions of dollars debt, or they’ll default. Which Merkle says..”Bye!”
PS...I wouldn’t even begin to compare Greece with Russia, there simply is no comparrisons.....maybe Cyprus somewhat...and Italy if you push it.
The European Left's candidate for the European Commission presidency, Alexis Tsipras, Friday called for the immediate release of Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams who is been held for questioning in connection with the 1972 murder of Jean McConville. Tsipras called the arrest a "politically inflammatory act against democracy".
Greece is screwed. Their abundance of 100% pensions alone dooms them.
Almost as bad as our own Congress....
how does it end? Swedish communism with a mix of fascism?
