Syriza: The Coalition of the Radical Left, is poised to assume the reins of power
Greece is once again at the center of the European Union storm. Following the failure of the Athens parliament to elect a president in late December, Syriza, aka The Coalition of the Radical Left, is poised to assume the reins of power.
The future has already begun, party leader Alexis Tsipras, the man most likely to become Greeces Prime Minister, told reporters as the nation prepared for the early elections constitutionally required when presidential polls fail. You should be optimistic and happy.
The presidency is largely a ceremonial position, but Greek law requires a backing of 180 members of parliament to nominate a president. Current Prime Minister Antonis Samaras failed to garner that number, forcing the parliament to dissolve. The election for a new parliament (and Prime Minister) initially scheduled for June 2015 has been moved up to Jan. 25.

I can sort of understand the people there, the goverment has utterly failed them, corruption is so rampant its near third world country levels and the nation has been robbed and destroyed by the eu.
So people turning to extremism is understandable

the unemployment rate in greece right now is 25% , the same as was in the usa at the height of depression , and its been higher in greece then 25% for the last few years, was 28% pretty much all of 2014
The European Left's candidate for the European Commission presidency, Alexis Tsipras, Friday called for the immediate release of Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams who is been held for questioning in connection with the 1972 murder of Jean McConville. Tsipras called the arrest a "politically inflammatory act against democracy".
