why would a Dolphin need a flotation device? (nyuk, nyuk)
To: CrazyIvan
And his gun collection? Well played, FReeper! But I think the boat continued on without the driver aboard. Contraband will be discovered. He failed to scuttle the ship!
Impressive swim though. He must be in pretty good shape.

Wonder where the boat is?
To: Responsibility2nd
Really good shape, 9 miles is a ton of swimming.
To: BeadCounter
Really good shape, 9 miles is a ton of swimming. 9 miles in ocean currents to boot. He may have done more just to keep on the land track. Or the current could have helped him.

His biggest concern was shrinkage.

And up to 12 hours in the water will bring on hypothermia.

I’m a land-lubber myself - so I can only guess he could see the shore 9 miles away to know which direction to swim?

9 miles of swimming in the ocean is 100% badass.

No life vest, but he was a dolphin!

Wait...didn’t I hear that playing football is really bad for you?
(Someone crunched the data and found that retired football players are on the whole healthier than the population in general.)
To: Responsibility2nd
Swim or die, easy choice. I’m glad he had the strength to get back to shore.
