Mitch McConnell is off to a bitter start
Washington Post ^ | January 7, 2015 | Dana Milbank

Posted on 01/08/2015 1:14:37 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

"................McConnell took the Senate on the low road. He stood still at his desk, lips pursed, clearing his throat often, and reading a grim message. “Moment of great anxiety . . . lost faith in their government . . . no longer trust Washington . . . losing health plans after being told otherwise . . . rising medical costs . . . difficult just to get by . . . world filled with chaos . . . autocrats scoffing at a superpower that doesn’t seem to have a real plan.”

“Confidence in the American dream has plunged,” McConnell said, pointing an index finger downward. “Anxiety about the type of country we leave to the next generation is widespread.” He declared the government “uninterested or incapable” of addressing Americans’ concerns and “working for itself instead of them.” Wiping his nose with a handkerchief, he went on to decry a bureaucracy that tries “to muzzle political opponents and ignore the needs of veterans.”

There’s nothing like a fresh start to bring out that patriotic spirit. And Democrats responded in kind: Minority Leader Harry Reid, injured in an exercise accident, had his lieutenant, Sen. Dick Durbin, read out a statement after McConnell’s speech, saying Democrats wouldn’t repeat Republicans’ “gratuitous obstruction and wanton filibustering.”.....

The writer failed to mention that half of that GDP growth came from GOVERNMENT SPENDING,the bloated behemoth produces nothing but more repression and higher taxes and misery.
They also did not mention that they combined some figures that were held back from the second quarter that were dismal so as to raise the next quarters number rise to 5 percent,it was predicted at the time that this was going to be a phony number.
The stinking lying Marxists rig all these numbers it’s all a load of graphics

Does anybody have any dirt on Dana Milbank?

She's a hunter and a closet member of the NRA.
That's not dirt to you and me, but to the left:) :) :)

Well Pinky is the Mobs frontman in the Senate.
The dead union goons rise to reelect him every time.
Now I think the Mexican drug cartels are in control of him and the Dem party.. Pinky was an actual character in the movie Casino.

Milbank and other beltway types are genuinely confused by the GOP in-fighting. Milbank thinks that McConnell and Boehner ARE the Tea Party. He can’t come up with a rational reason why there would be opposition. To these libs, people like Mitt Romney are “far right” and “extreme”. They have no idea about the ideology of the Right. Just clueless.

I've been thinking. The voters did what the HOR constitutional conservatives asked us to do. US voters across the spectrum sent them reinforcements beyond anyone's wildest expectations. The supposed constitutional conservatives probably should've organized them and kept them in touch with their voters before Boehner's goons warped them.

I'm not defending the newly elected liars. But I am saying that once they get to DC, the first thing most of the newly elected do is backstab their voters. Then they unpack.

Brat stuck to his principles. Did any of the others?

Another Freeper corrected me - it’s the Ritz Carlton in DC, which is as or possibly more expensive than the 4 Seasons. I’ve read on FR that he’s lived there for quite some time. Interesting he didn’t buy or rent a house in DC a long time ago - he could certainly afford it! Guess he likes having a doorman and room and maid service.

It’s still early here and I don’t recall how he got all his money (I seem to recall a lot of land deals in NV with his son, some of which were apparently a bit on the shady side). But, as I understand it, he’s rolling in the dough!

I believe you are correct - thanks for the correction. It’s still early here and I should have looked it up.

Best,

......before Boehner's goons warped them.....

I can understand the sentiment, but it was under TWO MONTHS, and for some of them, their influence only started just days ago. It isn't an warp/influence problem. I'm beginning to realize they were warped to begin with and didn't mean what they said and promised to begin with. At least for my state anyway.

Adding Daxton Brown as IIRC he’s done a lot of research on Harry and wrote a book on his connection with money, the mob, etc.

I found a article that included a tweet from Dingy - the picture with he and the other 3 Dim Senators is his LV home.

Another article said he and his wife have a 1 bedroom “condo” at the Ritz Carlton in DC.

They sold their home in Searchlight last year for $1.75 million and moved into a gated country club community near Vegas:

Term limits for Congress are impossible: the American people reelect over 90 percent of their popular incumbents.
