Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid broke several ribs and facial bones when a piece of exercise equipment snapped at his Nevada home Thursday, causing the lawmaker to fall.
In a statement issued Friday, Reid's office said the 75-year-old senator was hospitalized overnight at University Medical Center in Las Vegas as a precaution and was released on Friday.

Something does not ring true about this story. I would place a bet that what really happened is he shafted someone on an illicit deal and got beat to hell for it.

That goes along with his broken theology, world view, senate leadership, late or non-budget proposals, living in a hotel, telling the “truth” about the Koch brothers, lying about Romney’s tax payments, telling the truth about Obamacare, and hosting the cowboy poetry sessions. Dingy, you are a disgrace; I don’t believe your explanation about your “injuries” and I hope they are slow to heal you worthless human.

Probably not directly, but could be an enabling factor. He still has considerable power until, when, Jan 21? But the perception is that he’s not powerful anymore and may be vulnerable. Not as able to retaliate.
