An Egyptian man who moved into a house in Grossenzersdorf in Lower Austria told his neighbours the 60-year-old figure of Jesus on a cross outside his home was an 'eyesore' - so he cut it down with an angle grinder.
Shortly after the man bought the house in Augasse, he was heard complaining to his neighbours about the two-metre high crucifix with the figure of Jesus that stood for several decades on the grass verge in front of his property.
"I don't want that. It has to go!", he said, according to a report in the news daily Heute.
Soon, during renovations to his house, he had access to an angle grinder, so he simply cut it down, slightly damaging the Jesus figure in the process.
His neighbours weren't happy. Local mayor Hubert Tomsic of the socialist Christian Democrats (SPÖ) said "I had a conversation with the man about repositioning the cross at a different location in the alley - at his expense."
Tomsic said that such a 'radical' response to the common Christian symbol was offensive, and inflammatory. The right-wing Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) said on Monday that they have lodged a complaint with the police for criminal damage, and denigration of religious teachings.
On Tuesday, local Muslim leaders condemned the action of the Egyptian man in the strongest terms, saying that such an act caused great consternation. According to Islam, Muslims should respect the symbols of other religions, they said in a press release.
The old cross was a regular destination for Church processions since the past 60 years.

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues.
At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare.
From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels.
After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in Bangladesh — Muslim 83%, Egypt — Muslim 90%, Gaza — Muslim 98.7%, Indonesia — Muslim 86.1%, Iran — Muslim 98%, Iraq — Muslim 97%, Jordan — Muslim 92%
100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ — the Islamic House of Peace. Here there’s supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in: Afghanistan — Muslim 100%, Saudi Arabia — Muslim 100%, Somalia — Muslim 100%, Yemen ---Muslim 100%.

I suggest you take an angle grinder to this muslim infiltrator, explain you "don't want him and he has to go", cut him down and send him back to where he came from

I find the stock response muslim apologists repeatedly give amusing - “According to Islam...” and then name the very thing muslims all over the world aren’t doing.

That usually is a Right-of-way and doesn't belong to the property. .....
He bought the place... which included the cross... what would you feel like if a bunch of Buddhists descended on you with murderous intent because you took a long revered Buddha statue out of the yard of a house you bought...
It might have been a good gesture to let a Christian neighbor have the cross. At any rate, one could certainly put a new one up. It would be a better testimony. This might have been an atheist, same thing. How do you show Christ is superior — by mirroring jihad???
That's the public version. The ex cathedra version is a bit different.

Laws vary by locale. If it became community property then its destruction was illegal, and then there are normal legal channels for the community to go through to get recompense. In some communities you can’t put various things in that area and it might have been technically illegal from the word go. But the local council could change that and put a new one up.
What is really distressing is to see all this implied “Arrrrrgh, this Islamist is keeping us from worshiping the Lord.” Er, not so fast. In fact, if visiting that cross substituted for observing the Lord performing the work of the cross in their lives, maybe God did them a favor by removing an obstacle... context, context, context.

What if every American during WW2 or Korea or Viet Nam felt essentially like that ?
