House Conservatives Have the Power and Should Depose Speaker John Boehner

The “cromnibus” bill is soon to become law. The majority of House and Senate Republicans conspired with President Obama to fund his executive amnesty. Where do conservatives go from here?

Yes, we need to pick up the flag and force Republicans in February to actually fight as they are now promising when funding for the Department of Homeland Security expires, but there is an even more important intervening event that must draw our undivided attention.

The vote on whether Rep. John Boehner will be Speaker will occur in January, and 30 conservative House members can deny him re-election. It will be an actual public vote—not a behind-the-scenes, paper ballot vote. Although many would have you believe otherwise, Boehner has not yet been elected Speaker for the new term. House Republicans elected him as their nominee for Speaker in November, but the full House of Representatives needs to vote on his nomination in January.

House conservatives must summon the courage to oppose Boehner’s nomination on the floor in January. It is a moral imperative. You cannot consistently complain about Leadership’s many failures—and the treachery involved with a Speaker fresh off a successful wave election conspiring with President Obama to fund amnesty and enjoy a celebratory phone call in the aftermath—and then vote for him to continue in this role. To paraphrase Albert Einstein, that is the definition of insanity, and it is enabled by a vote for Rep. John Boehner

There will be two and only two candidates in the election for Speaker: John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi.

You are correct that 30 Republicans can deny Boehner the chair. It is also true that 30 Republicans + 189 Democrats can elect Pelosi.

If you don’t believe that can happen, you don’t know RINOs like I do.

A revolt of less than 30 representative could force the GOPe to present a more palatable candidate for speaker.

They should elect Sarah Palin to be House Speaker. (the Speaker doesn’t HAVE to be a sitting representative)

If the full house has to vote, the republicans can turn it down, just make sure it is a one item vote. Trun down bonehead and have another republican to vote on the second ballot. Sound good?

Great idea, but would it provide an opening for the Dems to vote in a Speaker, if they vote en masse for, say Pelosi? Boehner needs to be held accountable as he obviously doesn’t care about the American voters who gave the Republicans both Houses this last election. But I sure don’t want Pelosi back!

There is nothing to inspire to anything higher.

It is God that has gotten forgotten.

firing Boehner is more important than the midterm election

For sure. If there aren't at least 30 HOR Republicans who weren't bare-a**ed lying in their campaigns, we might as well just realize the country's not going to survive and prepare for a very bleak future.

Nope, the American People aren’t born any higher than those Washingtonians.

God, and God alone.

In my opinion Boehner and McConnell are exactly the same as Pelosi and Reid, nothing remotely conservative can be accomplished with them in power controlling the agenda.

They've proved it repeatedly, enough is enough!

Well, my District is sending Glenn Grothman to replace Tom Petri. That’ll make 31 conservatives.

Politics made a place for them.

This suggests the politics are rotten. Eliminate the players and before long if nothing else changes, new players will be there to do what the old players did.

I’m not even near as irritated with Boehner as with the lack of enthusiasm for God in the households of this land.

If Reagan were around today he would probably be saying “I didn’t leave the Republican party, it left me!”
