ObamaCare Supporters Should Be Very Worried, Experts Say
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 12/11/2014 | John Merline

What would happen if the Supreme Court rules that ObamaCare doesn't allow subsidies through the federal exchange? There's plenty of speculation, ranging from no big deal to absolute, total catastrophe.

An article published on Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine tries to answer the question with a little bit more precision. It's conclusion, however, is that disallowing those subsidies would be a devastating blow to ObamaCare.

I agree with you. The opinions on the last one were close, even for those who supported it. They have lots of leeway now to reverse their decision and not be seen as political. Although I would love to see them blame Gruber as another post discussed.

I disagree that inflation is “zip”. I read somewhere that its almost 10%. The inflation is happening in the things they don’t count but that we actually USE, like food/groceries. See this chart: http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/inflation-charts

I’m not an economist and don’t play one on tv...but I know what my wallet tells me and I am seeing a lot of things increase in the double digits.

Meh....the elites in Washington will just find another way to subsidize the have nots. Nothing, including the Supreme Court, will stand in the way of this behemoth.

PS-Never mind the machinations the Senate had to go through to pass this phony Bill. All Taxation Bills MUST originate in the House. The Senate took a Bill the House had passed, took out every word, inserted all the words in Obamacare and then voted on it. As it had a House number on the Bill, they claimed it had started in the House. Then passed it using reconciliation. The people responsible for this travesty need to be in prison, not in Congress.

Actually the bulk who signed up were given little choice, if you wanted to keep your medicaid in many statesyou had to go to the exchange..

I’d bet well over 1/2 if not 3/4 of all sign ups were people already on medicaid to begin with.

This whole thing is just a sham.

If SCOTUS strikes down the subsidies for the federal exchange, the states without exchanges will be under tremendous pressure to create them. How many GOP governors / legislatures will have the guts to say no? And, if a few give in, will that start a landslide that will complete the Obamacare vision? That's the scenario I worry about.

At this point I have no reason to believe that Obama will not ignore the ruling and go right on paying the subsidies anyway.

If Obamacare was passed and signed in bad faith, that is, with the intent to deceive the US public as to its objectives, then the entire Obamacare law should be stricken.

When the head of the supreme court, Roberts, wrote both the for and against arguments - meaning he voted against it before he voted for it - there was supposition he’d been strong-armed.
Now that we know the NSA and Department of Homeland Security have been spying on everyone, the IRS leaks tax return information to liberal non-profits, the feds put spyware on reporters’ computers and so forth, the theory that he was blackmailed now has very strong evidence behind it.

If there were no subsidies then many would not be required to get it.

Obamacare will not die as long as Benedict Boehner remains in charge. Guarantee he’ll figure out some way to rescue it like he just did for amnesty and Obamacare in this most recent CRomnibus betrayal. Our leadership takes us for granted and they DO NOT care what message we send them on Election Day.

Obamacare is over and just waiting to die.

We'll see what John Roberts does. He shocked the sane world before. Really, the Stalinist camp, which includes Breyer and the females, will support obamacare no matter what violence they have to do to the Constitution.

We already have merchants here announcing a “Second Black Friday”and “Black Friday Prices Here Again.” So the whole thing is pretty much a flop.
