Rick Perry, hungry for redemption, says he’s a ‘substantially different’ candidate

The man who could be president is ambling through the Texas governor’s mansion on his own, whistling “Frosty the Snowman” as he approaches the parlor to greet a reporter.

Gov. Rick Perry (R) leads a tour and points out a historically inaccurate depiction of frontiersman Davy Crockett in an oil painting in the foyer (“His coonskin cap — that’s a myth”). In Sam Houston’s bedroom upstairs, Perry lifts an antique upholstered settee, a gift from the French, to read an engraving signifying Texas’s early-1800s ties to France. He shows off a Civil War-era saber that belonged to a Union general and mentions having just read a thesis on race in America that his friend’s black father wrote in 1970.

Rick Perry is trying to show that he is not the Rick Perry you remember.

Jeb has the brains and the drive...but it simply won’t happen. I wouldn’t pick him above Perry...only saying he is capable.

His immigration stance is about the worst. I don’t care about his Mexican wife or his kids who are half Mexican. No reason for rampant amnesty.

My nieces and nephew are half Hispanic. My brother is against amnesty. Why should people who break the law get a break over those who do the right thing and go through the system??

Ted would be light years ahead of Perry in the position of President.

Texas citizens did not even know Gov Perry was giving illegals in-state tuition---that their taxes subsidized non-citizens----until the presidential debates.

FREEPER REALTIME REPORT---I called his office the day he signed the "Texican Dream Act" in 2001, and told his admin that Texas had just left the Union again. She was sorta shocked. Didn't even dawn on her that people in the country illegally getting taxpayer cash might be controversial. That's how disconnected from the citizenry they are.

Gov Perry receives a custom-made serape from Mexican Gov
Enrique Martinez of Coahuila, as a token of appreciation for
Perry's backing the "Texican Dream Act."

=========================================

PERRY SUCKS-UP LIKE NO MAN BEFORE HIM --- Gov Perry gave illegals state protection, tax-paid benefits and the means to undermine the US govt. US history scrubbed from school curricula.

REFERENCE--Subversive Texas Textbooks---distributed nationwide--- vilify conservative groups;

Breitbart Texas | 09/10/2014 | Merrill Hope / FR Posted by Rusty0604

In 2006, uber-liberal "Texas Rising" stated its mission: "developing an emerging generation of social justice-minded, informed and engaged leaders is essential to the long-term health of our communities and the development of progressive public policy in Texas."

...a sneak peak at the preliminary Social Studies textbook found including distortions, omissions and half- truths all passing for accurate high school US history...

And there's this gem: "The radical right consists of groups that sometimes gather under the flag of militant anticommunism. Often known as reactionaries, they denounce most forms of government regulation, including progressive taxation and restrictions and industry.Examples of political groups on the radical right are the John Birch Society, the National States & Rights party, The Christian Crusade, and the Tea Party movement."

Strangely enough, these cream puff radicals who abhor police power would not hesitate to use government police power to enforce the changes they desire.

=============================================

THIRD WORLD INFILTRATION College Board exams changed history answers... revisionist historians developed different answers to the question of what America’s story is about. From their perspective, at the heart of our country’s history—like the history of any other powerful nation—lies the pursuit of empire, of dominion over others. At its core, say the revisionists, America’s history is about our capacity for self-delusion, our endless attempts to justify raw power grabs with pretty fairy-tales about democracy. ....

NOTE WELL: This terrifying Third World revisionism is straight out of Third World textbooks---emphasizing the T/W effort to undermine US ntl security for the coming armed takeover.

The conniving T/W uses an ancient formula going back to Greco-Roman times---where savages, barbarians and thieves overrun a bountiful country lusting after its power and riches.

REFERENCE--- Some 10 years back, Texas schools started used Mexican textbooks for their backward illiterate Spanish-speaking students. Texas textbooks advocated the Mexican perspective including:

<><> anti-white, anti-capitalist anti-USA viewpoints;

<><> Mexican textbooks falsified US history,

<><> proselytized blood-thirsty La Raza savagery;

<><> using teaching as brainwashing;

<><> inculcating violent separatist, latino supremacy idealogy.

==============================================

REALITY CHECK A primetime network news segment focused on an "impoverished" latino mother who paid big bucks to get her son coached to take the College Boards---but he was so stupid, he still couldn't pass them. So the C/B summarily "changed" the tests so that Pedro could pass using subversive Third World hate-filled US history.

===================================================

The WH ding-a-ling's obsession w/ emptying out the Third World into the US is turning US schools into refugee camps........w/ big plans to inculcate the savage illiterates w/ hate-America, anti-American ideology....IOW reliable Democrat voters.

Rick is the best candidate....... he is what America needs. We need a strong aggressive leader with executive ability and experience

The reason for your disdain is trivial

I was all for Rick Perry when there was talk of him getting in the race in 2012. The buildup was unbelievable. I think the nomination was his for the taking, and then came the debates. He really blew it and did not deserve the nomination. I am willing to give him a second look to earn my vote.

After reading up on his role, I blame his advisors and the pharmaceutical industry for this one.

The pharmaceutical industry is still pushing this...and for both sexes now....and even more specifically...for the gay population. This is an expensive drug with little benefit to 99.9% of those taking it on.

I believe you could sign off on the drug and effectively, it wasn't mandatory.

I don’t really have a problem with him. I’m just poking fun at his new spectacles. but I still think I like Cruz better. He seems like he could really unify conservatives and that’s what we need more than anything. Plus he doesn’t have all the excess baggage weighing him down that some of the more prominent names have accumulated over the years.

I like Perry. Love his swagger, but isn't there any other good conservative outside of Texas? Where is the next young Newt Gingrich?

We need dynamic speakers, visionaries who can explain conservative principals to the masses. Is Ted Cruz the only one that can do that? It certainly is NOT Ron Paul, Marco Rubio or Scott Walker. I used to like Paul Ryan, before he became a greasy RINO slime ball.

Maybe Mike Pence?

This country is on the precipice. WHERE are all the conservative candidates that can actually explain conservative principals?

I’m not equating Perry with Ronald Reagan, but Reagan lost his first bid to be President too - then came back with a vengeance. I guess some of you are against second chances - it must suck to be one of your kids.

Dear God, do some of you think that politicians don’t make mistakes? Guess not - nope, they have to be 100% pure before they can even be considered for office. As soon as Jesus runs for office - let me know.
