That’s just the biggest single distortion in all the talk about the Eric Garner case, in which the public has been misinformed and misled from the start.
The Rev. Al Sharpton has never had to put himself in harm’s way to protect our streets against crime, as our police officers do every day. He’s in no way qualified to stand on his soapbox and dictate procedures. I spent decades in law enforcement. During my time with the NYPD, I was responsible for over 1,400 felony arrests — any of which could’ve required the use of deadly physical force. Volunteering to be a decoy cop in the 1970s, I was the victim of more than 500 muggings, about 30 of which injured me seriously enough that I was hospitalized. I wound up in countless physical situations and was always able to get the perp into cuffs.

Depends on what the definition of choke is.
New Break. Al Sharpton has never officially been ordained by a Bishop, nor has Al ever attended a theological seminary and received a Masters of Theology. He is not a Pastor of any Church, he does not show the love of Jesus Christ, he does not offer forgiveness and mercy, nor can he preached the Gospel as do those who have been called and anointed. In fact, one could say Al Sharpton is a typology of an Anti-Christ because he is against all things Jesus taught.
Being a repeat offender and being out on bail may have had something to do with the attempted arrest. I would certainly hope he would have otherwise been issued a ticket. But that also assumes that Garner produced an ID.

Breaking up fights, arguing with police, resisting arrest, arrested 30 times... maybe someone with diabetes, heart disease, asthma and obesity should have chosen a different line of work.
He’s dead because he was in poor health and resisted arrest.

Not as much of a rape as the costs of medical bills and income lost from smoking-caused disease. People do have a right to smoke if they want, but they have no right to complain if the rest of us want them to bear the costs of their habit.
It doesn’t matter if it was a choke hold or not. If I got in a tussle with this guy and he ended up dead, I would be facing manslaughter charges. The police need to be held to at least as high of a standard.

The poor broke street guy didn’t pay his cig tax...As several have insisted, he was guilty of multiple counts of cig tax evasion.
This cost the government dozens of dollars in tax revenue.
Meanwhile, Wall Street and fat corps routinely evade paying trillions in taxes...
The message is clear for sloppy slobs further down the food chain.

I read that he was harassing people going into stores and trying to intimidate the store owners. A guy that big takes those actions to a scary level. There isn’t much room on those sidewalks.
