A Milwaukee man broke into the home of a 101-year-old woman and raped her in her bed during an attempted burglary, according to a criminal complaint filed on Tuesday.
Antoine Devon Pettis, 20, was charged with burglary, aggravated battery and second-degree sexual assault in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, where a $100,000 bond was set for him on Tuesday, court records show.
Pettis was identified as a possible suspect through a DNA sample that was obtained from the victim and a DNA sample that was gathered from a male relative in a separate case. Milwaukee police said Pettis was the second suspect in state history to be identified through familial DNA.

Hmmm...I just watched a semi-true movie about the first use of this. It was in Callie on a serial killer "Grim Sleeper?"..... with a 25 year history of serial murders.... [Captions in the movie claimed "based on" so some of what I recounted might not be true.]
If it had anything to do with someone in my family, I’d gladly post his bond. He might not like the outcome though.

It's great that law enforcement can look at the data base and not find a match but does find a "near" match and be able to say, "well, this is not the guy but it is one of his siblings, let's check them out".
The saddest part about this coverage is that Reuters picked it up not the Milwaukee daily.

Obviously a hate crime, since no 20-year-old would rape a 101-year-old for any other reason.
If the prosecution fails to throw whatever hate-crime laws are in the book at him, then they are racists!
