Whos up for another Jonathan Gruber video? On April 9, 2014, Gruber appeared on the Curbside Consult interview series with Harold Pollack, at healthinsurance.org; the host introduced Gruber as the architect of Obamacare, and Gruber made no objection. Pollack says, One of the things thats really striking to me is theres a politics of impunity towards poor people, particularly non-white poor people that is almost a feature rather than a bug in the internal politics in some of these states, not to cover people under Medicaid, even if its financially very advantageous to do so. Grubers response: Thats a great

Clearly Gruber was not a Democrat politician.
Democrat politicians all know to constantly lie about what they really think.

Only non white poor people suffering? My white son who has a BS degree but can’t find a full time job, never the less must have health insurance, which he never uses... When I got it, I got it for emergencies only, not for every pill and every OV and every bandaid. And he has no use for birth control pills or IUDs or abortions, since he is a SINGLE MAN, and the policy only covers him. Yet his monthly premium DOUBLED with ObamaCare. I paid it since 2011 and now he wants to pay it. But if it doubles again, he won’t be able to afford it.

ExpandingMedicaid was bait and switch. The federal taxpayers paid for the first few years, then it was all up to the state taxpayers.

I have noticed that! They have nice cars, too. One who was getting FREE dental work via federal money, I guess Medicaid, wanted to pay cash for the extra GOLD GRILL On the front teeth!

Financially advantageous? They sure do like spending OTHER PEOPLES' MONEY.
What would have been more advantageous would be to take what Obamacare & healthcare.gov have cost and provide that money to insurance for the ininsured. Instead, even with all the hoopla and $billions spent so far, only a small percentage of the pre-Obamacare uninsured are now covered.

And this from someone who had no problem taking millions from taxpayers.
He should use that money to pay for medical insurance for some of the disadvantaged.
These limousine libs make me sick.

Medicaid needs to be eliminated. I applaud the Republican Governors. I loathe Gruber, but will give him credit. Unlike most communists, he’s an honest one.

even if its financially very advantageous to do so Its about as financially advantageous as a payday loan. Get money today in exchange for signing up for a huge liability later. In fact, its worse than a payday loan. At least with a payday loan, you know the exorbitant interest rate when you sign so you know how badly you are getting screwed when you sign. With Obamacare, the states were signing up for open-ended mandates and liabilities later in exchange for some benefit today.

This is the mindset of the progressive elitist. See, Republican Governors were supposed to meekly go along with our scheme, and then get the blame when costs increase substantially and fewer people get covered.
Gruber can't believe that the GOP Governors had the audacity to reject Obamacare in their respective states. Don't they know what's good for them?
I think SCOTUS will completely nuke the individual mandate after this has come out.

ExpandingMedicaid was bait and switch. The federal taxpayers paid for the first few years, then it was all up to the state taxpayers.
That is one of the lib/leftists favorite tactics. Recall when Clinton put 100,000 new cops on the street -- only for the states/citites to pick up their salaries after a while. Clinton got the praise and the state taxpayers eventually got the bills for those salaries.

Exactly. It was financially advantageous for a couple of years...then the increased Medicaid obligations would become a financial millstone around the neck of the state. Funny thing, though...Gruber didn’t mention that, for some reason. ;-)
