No, no, no, Republicans arent racist. What on Earth would make you think that? In another isolated incident, prominent South Carolina Republican Rusty DePass likened an escaped gorilla to First Lady Michelle Obama on his Facebook page.
Commenting on a report posted to Facebook about a gorilla escape at a zoo in Columbia, South Carolina, DePass commented:
Im sure its just one of Michelles ancestors probably harmless.
When DePass was busted by online bloggers, he expressed embarrassment and apologized, saying:
I am as sorry as I can be if I offended anyone. The comment was clearly in jest.
But in classic Republican form, DePass claimed that he was not entirely to blame, but rather its Michelle Obama who should be blamed: The comment was hers, not mine, he said, saying that Michelle Obama made recent remarks about humans descending from apes. Funny thing is, when reporting on the incident, The Daily News could find no reference to Michelle Obama making any such claims.
The comment is reprehensible. Theres nothing funny about it, said Democratic Mayor of Columbia Bob Coble. What he needs to do is simply apologize in a straightforward manner.
Eric Davis, the current chairman of the Richland County Republicans, said DePass should be forgiven and people should just move on. Everyone says stupid things they regret later. I think the world should move on, he said.
DePass is the former chairman of the Richland County GOP, and was an early supporter and fundraiser of President George W. Bush and then became the co-chairman of Rudy Giulianis 2008 campaign in Richland County, the states largest county. He can now join the ranks of other moronic GOP Chairs like Russel Pearce and Todd Kincannon, who is also from South Carolina.
DePass made headlines when, in an Op-Ed in 2007 endorsing Giuliani, he said that New Yorkers became American again when September 11 happened:
Most of us, of course, particularly in South Carolina, never gave a damn about New Yorkers, but somehow the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, made those people Americans again.
>>DePass commented: Im sure its just one of Michelles ancestors probably harmless.
That’s what they teach in public schools—that all people are descended from apes.
Was it a male or female gorilla?
pretty sure it’s not a racist slam.
prolly more like a creationist vs darwinist thing
Think they could get away with doing this to Obama?
When the Mooch is pissed, I see Wookie.
Who cares?
They called Bush a chimp-—constantly.
Public life is tough,Michelle.
.
But racist jokes about Condi Rice are OK though.
When Moochelle isn’t pissed, I see Wookie too.
They called Bush a chimp, which apparently he resembled. I could not argue withthat. Similarly, I cannot argue when somebody claims Moochelle might give the gorilla vibes. I personally think that she looks butt fugly, but not necessary a primate.
Should have apologized to the gorilla!
Strange. Commie ‘RAT “activists” used to like to say that Dubya looked like a chimpanzee. Must be something in the water at the White House.
Does the author realize this is from 2009?
The left finally has something to be outraged about. Meanwhile, back at the ranch.......
I don’t care. She resembles a tyrant to me. Any perception of beauty stems from that. “Gorilla” is kind.
Here’s a good example of that with this music video, “Curious GWB.”

Nope! Never heard about it way back then!
Does the gorilla also have a huge bulge?
Well, come to think of it..............
The taxpayers paying for that fat Arse should make her run laps around the W. Hut until that arse fat is gone. We pay her insurance against our will. We must reduce our risk by running the wookir till she drops the fat.
