The Republicans need to man up and throw Boehner and McConnell overboard. This country is on the edge of oblivion and we need leaders now! Not compromised, bought off pols like John and Mitch. I’m fed up with this crap! The president, the media, and the Democratic Party form a formidable wall and our side is trying to attack the flanks. No, we need to go full metal, straight at them. Attack them headlong. There’s going to be collateral damage everywhere but the country is at stake and the liberals have to be driven out of Washington if we want the nation to survive. We need a General Cruz, Gohmert, and Gowdy leading the charge. I’m tired of inept leaders in McConnell and Boehner.
Yes! You've got it. What do some of my fellow freepers expect him to say? "We're here to totally disrupt the legislative process and not do a damn thing?"
The reporter's question alluded to McConnell needing to "work with Obama" and he turned that around to say that Obama was the one out of the mainstream. I thought it was a savvy answer.
He's forming the debate to center around: Obama is too far left... extreme... out of touch... and imply that he's a nutjob.
I actually like the way McConnell handled this press event.

That is correct. It is VERY, VERY, difficult for good people to accept just how EVIL the left is. They all seem to have to learn it the hard way. That’s why Obama’s approval rating was 90% when he took office. You do not get those numbers unless most CONSERVATIVES really thought he’d do a good job. There was a handful of voices out there that understood Obama (it wasn’t hard, all you had to do was look at his past) - they included Savage and Rush, who coined the line “I hope he (Obama) fails”. Rush was ATTACKED from all sides, even those ‘supposedly’ conservatives on the radio. The people attacking Rush were TOTALLY CONVINCED that Obama wanted to make the country a better place.
I still remember the late Tony Snow, a hero on our side, admitting to learning it the hard way. He heard Rush attacking our public schools and wrote it off to “conservative blustering” to get ratings. Then Tony learned. He stuck his daughters in public school and realized that EVERYTHING that Rush had said was true.
So that’s the problem. It’s the same problem Jews had in Europe when a few of them were running around saying that the Nazis were going to exterminate them. Why would Nazis ever want anything other than to help EVERYONE, Jews included, to be the best they can be? The vast majority of Jews IGNORED those “sky is falling” types and were peacefully marched right into the gas chambers.
The idea that some people are PURE EVIL is extremely difficult for good people to accept. The majority of Germans, even during WW2 were good people and would never believe that Nazis would be killing Jews by the millions. That’s why the US Army specifically made those Germans exhume the bodies and accept what REALLY happened.
