I appreciate what you are saying, but I have to lighten up?

Not the people calling him a phony, a faker, a scammer, doubting he was sick, and making up outright lies about him and what he's said and done over the years? People that don't watch his show, or the other programming on the network, like Real News and the excellent For The Record?

The same people that wouldn't have known George Soros from Gene Simmons, who now talk to their friends and online about the Tides Foundation, The OSI, the Center For American Progress like they are some sort of political prophet without mentioning they would have known almost none of that without Beck's trailblazing efforts?

“The truth is that he is taking risks and doing FAR more than all of you”

Taking risk? He is making millions and millions of dollars. I don’t see any risks.

I was thinking alien abduction might be next for Glenn.

You took only part of my sentence, and used that little bit to help your case. The full sentence is:

The truth is that he is taking risks and doing FAR more than all of you, COMBINED--TIMES 1000 for this country--at the risk of his health and sanity. And yes, his health and sanity were, and still are, at risk.

His health suffered, his reputation suffered, (mocked by the Concentration Camp Clowns Stephen Colbert and Jon LIEbowitz) he had to worry about the safety of his kids and his wife, as well as his own, to the point where he has full time armed guard protection. (google the stories about American Airlines and the Central Park movie)

No doubt he made money at fox, but he did not get any richer with The Blaze. In fact, he probably is less better off--he is not making money (according to him) from the network.

Don't get me wrong: I really don't enjoy having to sound like a cheerleader for Beck (at least to those ignorant and judgmental folks who have their minds already made up about him) because I have some disagreements about the things he does as well...

I sent a profanity laced tirade to "The Balze" (That's my name for it) website because of some of the story selection, anti Palin comments by one of the editors, the bloatware and bullshit it wreaks upon my computer every time I go there..

I would not have said anything publicly about sending toys to the illegal children (I would have just done it, and kept quiet, or spent all the money on vaccines and preventative disease measures)...

But none of you mentioned his Mercury One charity, none of you mentioned his funding for the Operation Underground Railroad, which rescues children from sex traffickers...

Glenn is a complex man. He is a man. with faults. I am smart enough to separate fiction from the truth, and I am smart enough to set aside small quibbles about his decisions and his vision, and his radio show and his tv network--and I realize the greater good he did, and the good work he continues to do. I am my own man, and I will not hero worship anyone. But I am a proud subscriber to his network, and I am a fan of the man himself.

I think my lack of REM sleep has more to do with the five kids under eight. Three under three. Lots f crying, little sleep.

I have nothing against Glenn Beck. However, I can not listen to him. He makes me too darn nervous. I have too many problems of my own.

Besides, his web site is full of adds and malware. If I use Internet explorer it is attacked so much it actually shuts down the web browser. If I go to the Blaze I have to use Chrome with full add blocker and it is still a slow loading site with as many as 20 adds blocked per session. That is just abusive to the user and reader.

I agree. When I get done listening to him, (the few times I do), all I want to do is crawl in a basement with a loaded gun and a pallet of canned goods, thinking I should have never brought kids into this world. I’ve lost count at how many civilization collapses he’s predicted to have come...and gone...and we still wait.
I look at Beck and I see that 1980’s mullet, goofy-ass, morning zoo DJ, except now he has a 100 million or so...but he’s the same goofball. He became famous when his show took off on the back of 9/11. In my radio market, following 9/11 they took Dr. Laura off the air because it just seemed too trivial and on came Glenn Beck. Mr. Flag-waving, muslims-suck Beck. He was preaching to a choir hungry for red meat. He was in the right place at the right time.
He may indeed be charitable but it’s easy to be charitable when you’re sitting on millions.
Beck is a classic case of hollywood guilt. Feeling like you have to make the case that you’ve earned that sick amount of wealth. Not through sweat but because you had a tough childhood, were an alcoholic, have chronic illnesses, etc.
He sits on his mountain of $$$ and resources and shakes his finger at us and tells us we must prepare. We must pay off our debt, stop spending foolishly etc. Thank you Glenn. As a hard working man trying to keep a roof over my family’s head...thank you because I was about to buy that 50’ yacht, but now I’ll pay off my visa bill and purchase a 6 month supply of food insurance instead. He tells us we must stop spending money on frivolous things, (as a small business owner, thank you again Mr. Beck)...then he stops to tell us, “this segment brought to you by....”.
I watched that interview. I saw him crying about how hard his illness must have been on his wife. She sat next to him looking on, you could see the discomfort in her DRY eyes. He is a drama queen. What the hell happened to that big announcement awhile back about going blind or something?
For Glenn’s sake, I hope he never loses his fame, because if he does, he’ll crash and burn in a way that makes Robin William’s end story seem tame.

I think Beck is a truly good man. He was excellent when he was at Fox. But his show has morphed into some bizarre new age/ all you need is love theme. He just canned Wilkow and Real News which were by far the best shows on his network. I have no idea where he plans on going with The Blaze but I can assure you it will change every 18 months or so. The guy is absolutely all over the place and never follows through on anything. Not to mention he has every disease known and unknown to man yet he always magically heals up from his innumerable terminal illnesses.

Can’t stand that sugary, cotton candy, simpleton theme song for his radio show.

“we all want to be loved...” Sounds like Kermit the frog singing to a bunch of kids on Sesame street
