New Polls Show Republicans Pulling Away In Key Senate Races

New Polls Show Republicans Pulling Away In Key Senate Races November 02, 2014 Republican Senate candidates are pulling away in the final days of key races, according to polls released this weekend.

Republicans are either leading in Georgia, Kentucky and Louisiana or will likely win runoff elections, according to a NBC/Marist poll released Sunday.

In addition, the Republican nominee in Iowa, Joni Ernst, now has a 7-point lead over Democratic challenger Rep Bruce Braley, according to a Des Moines Register poll released Saturday.

Most polls have shown until now that the four races have essentially been deadlocked in the closing weeks.

The GOP needs to win a net total of six Senate seats to take control of the chamber, with essentially only the West Virginia and Montana contests apparently in hand.

In Kentucky, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell appears to be pulling away from Democratic challenger Alison Lund Grimes, reaching the critical 50 percent mark with Grimes now at 41 percent.

They just aren’t energized to vote and some of these tactics are making Dems mad. When Blacks walk out on Obama, you know there are problems...

This is the truth.

The Dems will lie, cheat, and steal and will keep the Senate.

I hope I’m wrong, but BO won’t go quietly into the night. He’s a mean MoFo and he and his minions will do what ever is necessary to keep control, will of th people be damned

The Rats got blindsided in 2010 and responded by building up the stupendous ground game which swept them to victory in 2012.

One would assume that the basics of that ground game are still in place (at least in the purple states), so they will not roll over.

I expect it to be down to the wire, but I do expect the GOP to win at least 6 seats, even if the victory isn’t final until run-offs occur if necessary.

Once we gain the Senate seats in the solidly conservative states (WV, AR, MT, SD, LA, e.g.), it should be a long time before they return to the Rat column.

If the GOP takes the majority, it’s also possible that Manchin-D, WV will read the tea leaves and realize that he’s chopped liver being a moderate among a bunch of progressives and caucus with the GOP.

Too bad. The Democrats nominated and elected Obama, giving us our first Black president. In their frenzy of blind enthusiasm, they overlooked the myriad of problems with Obama as candidate and President. His incumbency is a disaster and might be an impediment for the next Black candidate. Sad, there are several outstanding Black Republicans I would be proud to see in office.

Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight gives the GOP a 73% chance of taking the senate.

“New polls out this weekend suggest that Republicans may not just win the six seats they need for control, but quite possibly eight seats — “

“If we add up all the states where Republicans lead, they will win eight seats for 53 seats in the next Senate. Sure, Democrats still have chances in Alaska, Colorado, Georgia and Iowa. But the Republican position is holding steady, if not improving, in all the states they need for a majority.”

“Finally, in Kentucky, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has a 97 percent chance of re-election. Both Marist and PPP have him up 9 percentage points in new polls out this weekend. He has trailed Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes in only 1 of 26 public polls since July. His average lead in October polls was 4.9 percentage points. Barring a shocker, this race is over.”

In GA, What if it turns out that the Dems are playing the “racist voter suppression” button skillfully and in a low turnout January the ground game they’ve been building in GA can deliver out of the churches while the GOP seems to have no ground game and depends solely on people to turn themselves out?

My impression is that so far, the Dems have been much more skillful in playing the game to energize their voters and to even win over swing voters to believe in being nice and fair.

The Republicans don’t deserve to win, but the Dems deserve to be slaughtered.

I don’t know about Kansas. You see Pat Roberts on TV and he looks like a tired, beaten old man. He’s hauling everyone under the sun to come and campaign almost out of desperation. I’m wondering if his internal numbers look worse than the public polls.

I agree with you 100%!!! African-Americans are like sheep being led to the slaughter!!! They cannot see the forest for the trees, and they always follow the low life of the world as their leaders!!!

For goodness sake,,,,Obama is not an African-American...he is a Black Kenyan Muslim, coming from a lineage of Black Muslim slave traders. His idol is not America or African-Americans...

And...that is a big ditto for Sharpton, Jackson, the Reverand Jeremiah Wright, the CBC, the NAACP, their church leaders, pastors, ministers, preachers, the Democrat Party , etc.

They are adrift at sea, without a compass and a paddle...going nowhere...fast!!! Go figure!!! Who knows...maybe someday they will walw up and change their ways!!!
