Not so. Go to your local history center. Plenty of diaries/journals.
I have one of my favorites in front of me..."The Journals of Samuel Kirkland", 18th century Missionary to the Iroquois etc....

Ive never known a man to keep a diary...In my estimation, most "real men" don't keep diaries unless they are doing something real good OR real bad.

I kept a diary....it was hidden. It was emotional.
When I grew up, I cut the emotion...because it wasn't PC.
Now, I don't write anything that I don't want to see on the front page of the local newspaper.
