The left-wing National Journal ran a piece on Sunday making the argument that the Evangelical choice for 2016 has already been narrowed down to a choice between Sen. Ted Cruz and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.
The National Journal is right.
Evangelical and pro-family leaders realize that if America is to be reclaimed, conservatives cannot wait to let the filed sort itself out as we did in 2008 and 2012. It is close to midnight in America, and we simply do not have time to think about waiting until 2020. there may be little left of our country to save by then.
It may be imperative that social conservatives rally soon around one candidate and throw their energy and resources into his campaign. Given the timeline of modern presidential campaigns, this must happen early in 2015. ...
If the GOP runs another McCain or another Romney, the Democrats will win...
A host of GOP candidates who flunk this test including Scott walker (who surrendered on marriage in Wisconsin) and rand Paul (who has suggested that government get out of marriage altogether). Marco Rubio has kneecapped himself by his support for amnesty.
Christie is out for a host of reasons , and Jeb Bush is out because of amnesty and Common Core.
That leaves, in addition to Cruz and Huckabee, Gov. Rick Perry, former Sen. Rick Santorum, Dr. Ben Carson and Gov. Bobby Jindal.

“wont you let me take you on a Sea Cruise”
I remember that part
:)
I think Ted Cruz, if he chooses to run, would be the best conservative/constitutionalist candidate.
I support Ted Cruz, if he chooses to run.
I believe that you're making a fundamental, and dangerous, mistake with 0bama.
Yes, he's a punk with no experience running anything.
That's not the problem.
0bama is evil. He is deliberately destructive, willfully harming American and her allies, knowingly aiding and abetting her enemies, supporting communism and mohammedanism at every turn. And at this, he is not a failure at all. He is hellishly effective.
Perry, Sessions, and Cruz.
Cruz is my favorite candidate but I will be satisfied with either of the other two. I didn’t understand the author holding out so long on Huckabee, who is soft on amnesty, but disqualifying Scott Walker immediately for the same reason. Perry will also lose immediate support due to his amnesty stance. He can’t be the final choice.
Our candidate must be: Pro-God (free exercise), Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, Pro-Natural Marriage, Pro-Israel, and Pro Real Security Defense to include Border/Coast/Visa Control.
Cruz fits.
Sessions fits.
We don’t know about Carson. Santorum’s day has passed.
I have no doubt that Perry, if he catches a tailwind will attract big money. Sessions will not attract campaign level money. I don’t think Cruz has the connections yet to attract huge money. The same with Marco Rubio. Christie, Huckabee, Walker, Kasich and the other talked about governors all will attract huge money if they catch a tailwind. Rand Paul will attract his dad’s moneyed backers inititally. Bush, of course, will instantly have all the money he needs. Additionally, Christie, Bush, and Paul are the media’s favorites, so they’ll get free air time and consideration.
I see the early primaries to narrow it down to Cruz, Perry, Christie, Bush, and Paul.
All are better than Obama, Clinton, Warren, or any other liberal.
There are only two, however, who are closest to the evangelical ideal: Cruz and Perry.
Cruz should be the nominee. There is no doubt. But it boils down to money. We will vote for him early with our money or we’ll never get to vote for him in the polling booth.
There’s no reason to even discuss this.
Ted Cruz is the only potential 2016 candidate that I can back 100%. It’s just that simple. Period.
Ted Cruz, 2016.
Press 1 for Mike Huckabee
Press 2 for Ted Cruz
Press 3 for Rand Paul
Press 4 for Marco Rubio
Press 5 for Chris Christie
Press 6 for Rick Perry
Press 7 for Jeb Bush
Press 8 for Rick Sanctorum
Press 2 for Cruz, or prepare to looz!
Ya notice that Willard is not included ???
also I thought it was going to be “planning to vote for someone else” but NO LOL
: )
Cruz first. Perry a distant second. Third party after that.
To be fair, Walker, Perry, Jindal have all been instrumental in closing abortion mills, their governorships have actually resulted in real results. Perhaps a few others who are considering running as well.
Walker, Perry, Jindal, Cristie have all actually shut down abortion clinics.
Cruz
Perry over Cruz in this matter, Perry’s leadership has actually shutdown abortion mills.
I’m for Cruz but on the pro-life issue, these governors have done much more.
