The highly sophisticated hacking of Sharyl Attkisson's computers
Fox News ^ | Oct. 27, 2014 | Howard Kurtz

Posted on 10/27/2014 9:17:28 PM PDT by EternalVigilance

From the moment that Sharyl Attkisson met a shadowy source I’ll call Big Mac, she was plunged into a nightmare involving mysterious surveillance of her computers.

They met at a McDonald’s in Northern Virginia at the beginning of 2013, and the source (she dubs him Number One) warned her about the threat of government spying. During their next hamburger rendezvous, Big Mac told Attkisson, then a CBS News reporter constantly at odds with the Obama administration, that he was “shocked” and “flabbergasted” by his examination of her computer and that this was “worse than anything Nixon ever did.”

Attkisson’s forthcoming book--“Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction and Intimidation in Obama’s Washington”—reads in part like a spy thriller. Just when you think Attkisson’s imagination might be running away with her comes wave after wave of evidence that both her CBS computer and personal iMac were repeatedly hacked and its files accessed, including one on Benghazi. A consultant hired by CBS reached the same conclusion. Further scrutiny of her personal desktop proves that “the interlopers were able to co-opt my iMac and operate it remotely, as if they were sitting in front of it.” And an inspection revealed that an extra fiber-optics line had been installed in Attkisson’s home without her knowledge.

This is chilling stuff.

There is the strong implication that an administration that spied on the Associated Press and Fox News correspondent James Rosen might have been involved. A Justice Department spokesman said in an earlier statement that "to our knowledge" the department "has never 'compromised' Ms. Attkisson's computers" or tried to obtain information from any of her devices.

But swordmaker said this wasn’t possible on a mac so she must be lying.

And an inspection revealed that an extra fiber-optics line had been installed in Attkisson’s home without her knowledge.
I did not say a physical hacking was not possible and if they installed a freaking unauthorized fiber optic line into her home, you idiot, they had MORE then just physical access to her computer; they had free access to everything at her house! There was no simple remote "hacking" by an stupid "innocuous" email. They installed it manually. Now YOU give it a rest.

Given the quality of the FIOS installers I’ve had to deal with, this might be just another example of their skill. /s

That seems to be a general theme here. It’s all just a big ‘so what?’

You missed the point of the picture. That was the Benghazi hearing. They were very much into silencing Attkisson over Benghazi.

Who, exactly, is going to investigate the government?

Damning, these excerpts. I do want to get the book.

But outside of riling up those that already have a number of beefs with this Administration and about damned near every agency it has hooks in, there’s no ‘smoking gun’.

Of course, regulating Drudge, FR & other such sites is sure to follow. But who’s going to stop it, the Republicans???

BIG /S

I wonder if Obama hacked Romney and aids computers during the campaign and knew everything that they were planning?

I read somewhere else that not only did they access her computer and remove files, but also added files deep in her hard drive with the purpose of later using that “discovery” that she was conducting criminal activity, ala James Rosen.

What this means is that TPTB can, say, place kiddie porn on your computer remotely, or anything else they desire to get rid of an enemy of the state. Chilling indeed.

Seriously? Are you quite inured to this? IFF the government actually did this, our liberties and the Constitution designed to protect them means absolutely nothing to this monster of a government that’s been created. What the hell is wrong with you?

It may not be as sophisticated as one might think. You could buy, online, a Snoopstick, I think it is called. Plug it in a USB port of any computer for 30 seconds and you have complete access from your computer, in real time or for later retrieval. A police officer suggested it to me when my kid was going haywire in the teen years...

Amen to that. Nixon was a piker. Obama and this regime is worse than anything you could think of and its a damn shame that the media just kneels before their king.

When I am not using my computer it is not plugged into the internet and most times turned off. Access then becomes negligible.

She was the CBS reporter who broke Fast and Furious in the alphabet media, too.
