REUTERS/Fred Prouser Nouriel Roubini. "American madness: a teenager is allowed to receive a rifle as a birthday gift," NYU professor Nouriel Roubini tweeted. "Sick sick country."

Roubini's words came hours after a gunman killed one person and injured several others at Marysville-Pilchuck High School near Seattle, Washington.

Yeah, but those Muslims in the ME who steal and torture little girls and women, use boys and girls as sex slaves, murder infants and teen boys, use chemical weapons on Kurds and Christians, use farm animals to fulfil their aberrant cravings, blow up buildings, and crucify and behead people aren’t sick at all. They’re peaceful and normal. It’s these horrible Conservatives and their defense weapons who are destroying the world. Give me a break. They used to lock up nutcases. The world was better off when that happened.

And most of the misuse incidents are accidental and not malicious. Teen drivers also die at higher rates, does that mean we never let them get near cars?

When I was in grade school I looked forward to hunting season and shooting during the off season. When Nouriel Roubini was in grade school he was busy soiling his velvet pantaloons.

These libs always get their panties in a knot after every shooting like this while they whine and carry on. All of these emotional out bursts are to encourage others of us to follow suite and not to think about the fact that every one of these school shooting occurred in “GUN FREE ZONES”. Zones were armed outlaws go without the slightest fear meeting a law abiding armed citizen who would shoot back in self defense and to protect the lives of others.

I was given a .22 Bolt Action Rifle and a Single Shot .410 Shotgun when I was eight years old.

Kept them and a whole bunch of Ammo in my Bedroom Closet.

Now, 53 Years later, I’ve killed one less person than Ted Kennedy did.

"In the US instead you get mad at someone (family/stranger), you pick up a gun & kill. Murder rate 20x more than Europe given gun easy access"

It's not. Latvia, Estonia, Albania, Belarus, Lithuania, and, Russia are all in Europe and all have higher murder rates than the US.

If it were not for the more than half of all US murders that are committed by African Americans, the US would have roughly the same murder rate as Norway.

France, the UK and Germany have lower homicide rates than the US, but the US rate isn't anywhere near 20 times higher.

When I was 14, I got a rifle for Christmas, and a shotgun for my birthday a few months later.

Neither weapon killed anyone.

This guys is such a shortsighted idiot. I usually enjoy his commentary on economics and world events, but if he’s THIS wrong regarding firearms, to me it damages his overall credibility. From now on, I’ll take whatever he might say regarding ANYTHING with a HUGE grain of salt......

” after a gunman killed one person and injured several others at Marysville-Pilchuck High School”

That was no “gunman”, it was a kid who decided that he’d like to try to be a gunman. He only succeeded in being just another kid with no idea of what it was he was about to do with a gun.

What's his position on abortion?

My comment on the AP thread:

Governments murdered more of their own people in the 20th Century than in all wars combined. And in every case, these governments first disarmed their enemies in the name of “public safety,” beginning with the Turks and the genocide of the Armenians. Anytime that statist tools like Roubini start talking about disarming civilians in the name of “public safety,” ask the Turkish Armenians, German Jews etc how that worked out for them. If you can find any.

(Let’s put what he wrote in context:)

“American madness: a *black* teenager is allowed to receive a rifle as a birthday gift,” NYU professor Nouriel Roubini tweeted. “Sick sick country.”

Roubini, however, argued that the focus should rather be about how easily accessible firearms are to black people who may be mentally unstable.

No one ask why we live in a barbaric country where any black person can have access to guns
— Nouriel Roubini (@Nouriel) October 25, 2014

In a civilized country no black person would have access to guns & be able to kill if upset
— Nouriel Roubini (@Nouriel) October 25, 2014

Giggled on Wikipedia, Nouriel Roubini is American born of Iranian Jewish immigrants.

He is an economist. Predicted the 2008 crash supposedly.

A self described “global nomad” who thinks spending three days in a country suffices for getting to know it, then move on to the next country.

Repeat, Roubini is an ECONOMIST! And he is lecturing us Neaderthal knuckle draggers /s about GUNS!!!!?

What a maroon!

In Israel a terrorist killed an Israeli baby by driving a car into a crowd. In Canada a terrorist killed a Canadian soldier by slamming his car into him. Should we outlaw cars?
