The Undiscovered Conservative Demographic
Original Content | 10/25/2014 | Laz A. Mataz

Whenever one looks at the demographics of the population of America, and how it is changing, it always looks very daunting for conservatives.

I agree. But I'd like to suggest a strategic solution that is very viable.

The Hispanic demographic is ripe for a conservative takeover.

The Hispanic population is a largely-Christian and very religious demographic. They are hard-working, very family-oriented, and tend to be moral. There are, of course, exceptions that disprove this rule, but I am speaking of the big-picture Hispanic population. They tend to have fled from countries that embrace socialism and police-state tactics on the part of the government. In Atlanta, Georgia, I run into a lot of Hispanics, and they are mostly as I describe. They seem to be 'natural conservatives', and if we explain it to them, we may bring them to our side.

These factors lend themselves very well to how we conservatives think. At the moment, the Democrats seem to be winning them over. If we get motivated and directly address them, one-on-one or especially in large groups, we may just capture this group for our own.

It will take a great deal of motivation and a very large effort, but I would like us to consider this as a strategic plan of action. It would require the development of a curriculum that explains America (as it once was) and how we became great. The curriculum would need to explore their country's socialism, and why they lived in the squalor from which they fled. It would need to educate them on the founding of our country, and explain who the founders were -- and how they relate to the current Hispanic situation.

Then, when a curriculum is developed, we would need to organize meetings, perhaps funded by deep-pocket conservative icons, replete with a reasonable give-away to lure them there. We'd need fluent Spanish speakers to explain the curriculum to them.

Obama will issue an Executive Order Amnesty later in 2014, illegally, of course. Imagine, however, if it turned out to be the Liberal, Communist and Democrat Party's undoing.

This is a sound strategic move. We need to start the process.

“According to the Pew poll I put up, 31% of them already do not.”

I’m talking about the other 69%.

Will they support closing the border to all their cousins? I doubt it. The majority pay little in taxes and get huge EITC government checks, will they vote to end that? I doubt it.

They are here for the money, that’s what they will vote for, Santa.

I agree we have to try, but I doubt they will vote majority conservative.

Nobody has any control over a hurricane but we do have control over the federal government, according to the Constitution. Let’s follow the Constitution.

You and I have the same experience. Color of skin is their god.

You want to see tolerance? Go to a social setting predominately Mexican who are middle class, decent, Christian.

Now as a white guy, try to bring up the border and the need to shut it tight. You’ll see real “tolerance”, trust me. You will be looked upon as the Grand Wizard.

Sure, amongst themselves they may discuss immigration control, but as a white guy if you do the hate will be obvious.

Same with a setting of middle class, decent, Christian blacks. Start a conversation about some of Obama’s policies that are hurting our Country and see what the response will be.

I wish it was a Kumbaya Country here in the US but that is naïve to the highest degree. As I stated earlier here, I used to believe it was possible.

Hispanics are natural Dem constituents. They support Big Government. You are spouting the rhetoric of the GOPe. There is a reason why the Dems support amnesty and higher levels of immigration. They are well on their way to being the permanent majority party.

With apologies, fellas, Laz is all wet on this.

A majority of immigrants—legal and illegal—from Latin America are on the dole in some fashion even as far as at least the third generation in this country. They come here for the far greater services they can extract from the government, as well as for the opportunity. They and infinite generations of their families qualify for affirmative action in education and hiring, needing to meet far lower thresholds of qualification than plain old white (or Asian) Americans.

Even back home where they are supposedly religious Christians (largely Catholics, of course), they are both steeped in liberation theology and among the highest-crime populations on the planet. Once here, they and their offspring shoot to the head of the pack not only for outright crime, but for dropping out of school and having children out of wedlock. While they are here illegally they typically commit felony after felony in various forms of identify fraud, and their small business orientation is overwhelmingly of individuals working as independent contractors, because that is an easier way for them to get around out employment, immigration, and tax laws.

Can the fundamental concepts found in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence be translated with the subtleties of the semantics involved?

I will grant that there are those who innately understand the concept of liberty, and of freedom, but the little things like: should vs. may vs. must vs. shall all subtly different in meaning might get lost in translation.

Ingles solamente, por favor!

We have real life examples of the impact of immigration on the electoral process. CA has the demography of what the US will look like in 2050. It will never go Rep again in our lifetime.

Immigration has changed VA into a purple state trending deep blue. NV, CO, and NM are blue. Unless we reduce drastically LEGAL IMMIGRATION, there is no way conservatives will win elections.

How does that work out with Californians or New Yorkers who flee their native states?

They seek what they have fled, because it is 'comfortable' for them.

I think the Conservatives should be encouraged to vote that way...

(maybe by a conservative candidate??? hint, hint)

...but getting those used to the chains of Socialist and repressive governments to suddenly shed those chains when the ones here are velvet-covered and a guarantee of being well fed might only be wishful thinking.

Laz,

This past Thursday I talked with a contractor, Cuban, who told me in unambiguous words that Cubans want those government checks.

All G*d’s Chillun like free government cheese.

And, like mice, they eventually get “The Snap:.

I suggest Hispanics will vote for that check rather than the Constitution.

Unless, and until, government if forbidden to do charity, Americans will channel their “Inner Mouse” and vote for government cheese.

Sorry I couldn’t offer any more encouragement regarding Hispanic voters.

Ok, I get it, I get it. You will not help, and you will in fact discourage any attempt with every fiber in your being.

How exactly does that make you any different than an active Democrat?

Do you not recall the 'impossible odds' we faced in the late 1700s?

Go ahead, continue to discourage any attempt to even try. Obama, Hillary, and the rest thank you from the bottom of their blackened hearts.

Try how? What is the message? Hispanics are being encouraged and incentivized to be a persecuted minority with grievances. Why are Hispanics and Asians provided with affirmative action preferences and minority business set asides? The term "Hispanic" is artificial and contrived to create a new class of Democrats. We have Hispanic whites and non-Hispanic whites.

Our efforts would be better spent reducing legal immigration and strengthening our borders. Jeff Sessions has a much better approach:

Becoming the Party of Work -- How the GOP can help struggling Americans, and itself.

"He’s talking about 1st gens. and forward. Illegals don’t count."

Wait a minute. First thing is the 1st gens from the 60s and 70s may have had more conservative tendencies. Second, of course Illegals count. That's what we are talking about here, and the Mexico they are leaving is not the same Mexico that produced their predecessors.

A recent Texas poll showed that nearly half of Hispanics plan on voting for the republican candidate for governor.

According to quite a few naysayers, that is UNPOSSIBLE.

I feel we should do both. Some of you try to staunch the flow, the rest of us will try this.

Rush once said that if Hispanics voted for the GOP in large numbers, Harry Reid would authorize funds to build a train running from the U.S. deep into the heart of Mexico in order to send all the Mexicans back there.
