The Establishment Almost Had Me
freedomoutpost.com ^ | 10/24/14

Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter almost had me convinced the other night. They almost had me. I think even Mark Levin hinted at it.

Elect Republicans, any republican, to stop Obama's agenda and get rid of Harry Reid.

Ann Coulter was so animated over it that I thought she was going to melt down. She was visibly and mockingly furious with anyone stupid enough not to vote for those like Mitch McConnell, or her love, as she describes him, Scott Brown. All the republicans she is pushing are Chamber of Commerce, big government hacks.

Anyway, this seems to be the refrain from the right, not just from the establishment, but also from conservatives. We must halt the Obama surge and throw out Harry Reid, so let's hold our collective noses once again and pull the lever.

And then what? And then no one has an answer because there is no answer, and they will not allow that question to be asked.

So, I guess I'll ask it again. And then what? Republicans take control of the House and Senate and then what?

Let me also answer that. Nothing gets done. At least nothing we want. Nothing gets slowed down or stalled. Nothing gets repealed. And why? Well, they already have a built in excuse for that. Now they need the presidency in 2016 to really get things done.

End of the nation.

The beginning of CWII, which is where we're headed regardless of R or D. If the R's are elected, it'll just take a little longer. If the D's get it, it'll be much quicker. Rip the bandage off quick. I'm done with the GOPe. I've been voting the lesser of evils for over 20 years. This "vote for the R's no matter what" BS has been tried over and over again. Screw asking "Then what?" How about asking what the hell happened 2000-2006 when we had an R majority in the House, Senate AND WE HAD THE WHITE HOUSE! We got bailouts and the "Patriot" act. Yeah, go ahead, keep voting for the GOPe. I'll be biding my time and preparing...

Those running for office who want my vote must walk the walk, which certainly can't be said of the current crop occupying Congress.

The commonly accepted definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results.

Voting for Republicans has not changed anything, even when they controlled both houses of Congress and the White House.

But, I would like to point out that Bush's nominee for the CJ of the USSC was the one who cast the deciding vote in favor of Obamacare.

We can all still vote republican while at the same time being reminded of the betrayals. For there’s always another election coming.

As I told a friend this week who was excited at the possibility that the Rs might gain control of both houses this time:

It won’t amount to a f@rt in a tornado if the Rs don’t have the male tackle to actually DO something to turn this Nation to the right.

WITHOUT that male tackle, nothing positive will get done. My family used to have a Livestock Sale Barn, and we had a poster up inside the Pay window in the office: NO BUSINESS DONE ON SUNDAYS! AND DAMN LITTLE THE REST OF THE WEEK’ That is pretty much what I expect out of this crop.

I expect the GOP will probably gain back the Senate.

But I don’t expect it to matter one single whit. Things like amnesty, fag-marriage, Obamacare, etc., will still be chugging along, without any substantial Republican pushback. The GOP leadership, if anything, seems downright allied with the Dems on these issues. The GOP has proven over and over again that they won’t fight when it comes to the issues I care about or animate my votes.

I’m going to vote for a few scattered races, but leave most of my ballot blank.

Unless it violates your conscious always vote for the candidate that can most likely unseat the incumbent, at least the new one won’t be as practiced at steeling our property.

Milton Freedman talked about making it politically profitable for the wrong person to do the right thing... still trying to figure that one out but we need to find a way to pressure those already in office to make proper decisions that conform to our constitutional republic’s principals because electing the right candidates just doesn’t seem to do any good.

I know, but this site is receiving a lot of anti-Republican posts. This is a period when we need to encourage every vote possible, Every vote counts. No one can stay at home this time for any reason.
