Officials are looking for who shot video of a group of motorcycle riders alternately taunting and ignoring an officer trying to pull them over while they pop their front wheels in the air and weave on a Northern California highway.
The confrontation earlier this month on Interstate 680 in Milpitas was filmed by one of the riders, who approaches the California Highway Patrol officer and motions for him to go away.
The officer pulls ahead, and the motorcyclist waves goodbye as another rider puts a fist in the air.

I guess Ponch and Jon were too busy.
LOL! Bike envy!
All too often backup is a very long ways away, and without a helicopter its almost impossible to keep up with a sport bike determined to get away. Attempting to conduct a traffic stop on that many riders was a very bold move on the officers part.
The riders know the officer cannot force them off the road because if a collision occurs the officer will be found at fault.
With video of their actions, and license plates on file they were probably all issued citations which were mailed to their addresses.
...would not be surprising if none of the bikes had plates...on that ride...
Maybe. Cops in pursuit tend to follow from the rear, and radio ahead. A couple of cruisers could then do their slow down deal, maybe some air support.
She blows right by them, they try to keep up. Not sure what she’s trying to convey to them. Looks like she wanted them to stay in the fast lane. Then she speeds of. Almost looks staged to me.
Add....
It could be she was an escort. The CHP does do that sort of thing for exotic car clubs. Once we took part in a little rally from LA to SF. CHP handed off escort and let us open up our cars (within reason).
That’s why it appears she’s trying to keep them in the left lanes.
Yes...I guess in Callie, disregard for laws is okay for special groups. Happens all the time it seems.
Read the article. He pulled over and waited for backup.
Happens in other states too. Used to be an outfit that ran a national “Players Run” (IIRC). Kinda the same deal. Not all states would provide escorts though, opting to ticket whoever they caught.
When they start arresting New Yorkers for ignoring ambulances, etc., it will give some weight to the law. I've seen news clips where they give the ambulance the bird and nothing is done despite the fact that the patient may die.
In most locales, permits are the order of the day. The exception that I know of is for funerals and thing like soldiers’ returns home for guard units and such. We’re talking an interstate highway here, not main street or state highway. Additionally, I don’t think that a National Players Run would have had multiple 60-70 MPH wheelies on an interstate.
As a motorcyclist I hate seeing these idiots. But the good news is, if we ever need an organ transplant these idiots will keep the supply well stocked.
No, no wheelies. But more like 160 to 170+. It's not a race though, more of a snob parade with short periods of Vanishing Point wannabe.
I thought it was going to be a bunch of thugs riding on quads and dirt bikes. That’s a big thing in the inner cities now. There is a documentary on HBO or Showtime showing how out of control the problem is in Maryland. Innocent people are being run over and killed by these idiots.
“Didnt these bikers beat up the Asian guy in NYC?”
No, the bikers in NYC who beat up the Asian guy turned out to be a group of off-duty cops out for a “ride”. Real surprise, right?
The bikers in this video look like kids.
Ladyrustic, your inforamtion is way off base. There were some undercover cops with the group but it was not off duty cops joy riding.
Same as I-84 through Hartford at midnight. :-/
