I'm curious how all the bed wetting leftists are handling this news? You know, the ones who have done nothing but mock the effort for years now?

Simple: It’s all Bush’s Fault

Don’t worry, they’re voting the straight (D) ticket.

I have a sister-in-law like that. If Obama’s crazy policies lead to deaths all over the US and in her family, she’ll blame Bush or AGW, and still pull the straight (D) ticket.

Facts have little impact.

The X-shaped bunker, encased in cement and shrouded in mystery, was one of two that were handled differently from the many other bunkers that made up the facility, according to Lt. Joshua Hartley, who was stationed there in 2008. It was off-limits.

We had troops there for years and could have cleaned this place out, but didn't.

Folks, this IS Bush's fault.

So Bush didn’t lie us into war with Iraq. Saddam had wmd’s.

Will wait for the MSM to ask Dems to apologize for politicizing the Iraq war!

Unbelievably, I heard Greta say ‘but these aren’t the WMD that Bush was looking for, are they’.

Yawnnnnnn....

Haven’t you heard? Chemical and biological weapons are not WMD’s. Bush went to war with Iraq to find and destroy his nuclear weapons.

Or something.

The UN was there on February 13, 2003 before the US invasion where they destroyed some 4 plastic drums of mustard; how liberals came to believe there was nothing at all is an amazing feat of willful ignorance.

Since this has now come public, I won't mind my say in the whole thing.

From the start in Afghanistan through the Fall of Baghdad, I was assigned to a Special Operations Command Battlestaff. Exactly what my job was isn't relevant right now. We were required to read all Situation Reports (SITREP's) coming out of the Middle East from any branch of service to determine if it was going to impact any of our operations either on-going or future planned. I mostly read the JCS Intel Reports. These were a mix of raw intel reports followed by analyst observations and recommendations.

To say that nobody reported these WMD stashes is not true. I would read daily reports, sometimes two or three a day. It was usually a patrol that found some unusual shells/rocket/mortar, pull out their trusty UXO (Unexploded Ordinance) cheat sheet, and realize they're looking at a mustard gas shell complete with markings, or a sarin gas shell. The initial report goes back via encrypted radio requesting a specialized team to come look at it and verify. The initial request, summary report, digital pictures, analyst report, and recommendations were reaching the JCS within 24 hours of discovery.

We were directed that releasing this information is bad OPSEC, because it would alert the AIF (Anit-Iraqi Forces) or Al-Quada In Iraq that there are indeed stashes of these WMD's and they would go on a massive hunt to find them.

We've all seen on one news story or another the horrific blast when old artillery shells are wired together to make an IED. Now imagine if they were to use chemical shells instead of just high explosives.

So, to answer the questions. Yes there were WMD's. Yes Sadam was manufacturing the even while the UN weapons inspectors were there. Yes these WMD's were reported (Up-channeled via secure communications). No it was not reported to the media.

My personal opinion is that Pres. Bush took a knife in the back to keep the existance of these WMD's a secret to prevent their use as IED's.

The 20th Support Command Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and High-Yield Explosives Analytical Remediation Activity, also known as CARA-West resides at Pine Bluff Arsenal.

The unit, which is a tenant organization here at the Arsenal, has been on some varied and dangerous missions over the years. For example, in 2003, they were deployed for weapons of mass destruction elimination in Iraq; in 2006, they went to Taji, Iraq on a mission near one of Saddam Hussein’s chemical schools to deal with approximately 2, 400 empty liquid-fill rockets; and in 2008, they deployed on a mission called “The Dragon’s Egg” to Fallujah, Iraq to deal with a possible chemical situation involving a buried tank supposedly filled with mustard agent.

“That was a crazy one and a little scary at times,” said Hubanks, explaining that they had to build a camp out in the middle of the desert to protect themselves. “It was a lot of hard work. There was a lot of risk involved in this mission, so much so that the risk assessment I prepared had to be signed by Gen. (David Howell) Petraeus (Commanding General of the Multi-National Force-Iraq at that time) had to sign. This one scared everyone.”

A canister of radioactive cesium is placed into a hazardous material container in a warehouse in Karbala on April 15, 2003, by an American soldier from a Technical Escort Unit, in order to be removed for later analysis.
