The campaign of Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes is reaching out to different demographics, including the urban areas of the state with a radio ad claiming McConnell is not only implementing policies hurtful to the communities but also trying to take away their right to vote.
Politico was first to report on the ad, which they say is running in Louisville and likely other areas of the state. In the ad, which can be heard below, a man tells listeners that Grimes is a “champion” for civil rights while also bashing McConnell for many things Grimes has hit him on before plus a claim that the senator is working to silence the voices of the African-American community.
“Worst of all, Mitch McConnell has been leading the Republican effort to take away our voting rights,” the man in the ad says. “Just like he blocked everything from getting done in Washington, he’s blocking the ballot box and trying to silence our voices.”

The ad does not cite any votes taken by McConnell to take away any such voting rights. And the Grimes campaign did not immediately respond to a call from Pure Politics about the ad.
The McConnell campaign said the ad reaches to “disgusting depths.”
“This is the kind of ad an unscrupulous, losing candidate may have considered running fifty years ago that we all collectively hoped was left in the past. Alison Lundergan Grimes is proving she will sink to disgusting depths in order to preserve her troubled candidacy,” McConnell spokeswoman Allison Moore said in a statement.

Had to happen sooner or later. McConnell should respond with an ad asking Grimes why she refuses to admit supporting the black candidate in the last two presidential races. I can hear the last line of dialogue: “Is Grimes racist against blacks?”

The problem is that it works. Each election year the party that historically did the most harm to black Americans, the Democrat Party, pretends that it’s the party that is stopping the wicked Republicans from taking away the vote for blacks. It’s ridiculous, but sadly, it works.

Part of me wants to see “Bitch McConnell” get his arse handed to him by the same Democrats he ALWAYS plays patty cake with during the post election season....
But I don’t want to want to leave the senate in Dem hands either, but if the Repubes take the senate we might very well see a Republican passed Sham-NASTY...
I am glad I am not in “Bitch’s” State and don’t have to make the decision to vote or not vote for him....
