New Polls Show Democrats Are In Deep Trouble As Election Day Approaches

A pair of new polls contains dire news for Democrats as they seek to hold on to their Senate majority and prevent Republican gains in the House in next month's elections.

According to a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released on Wednesday, 46% of voters would prefer a Republican-controlled Congress compared to 44% who want to see Democrats in charge. The pollsters, who came from both sides of the aisle, attributed the preference for a GOP-led Congress to a record low 31% approval rating for President Barack Obama's handling on foreign policy.

In 2016 a conservative President with a Republican controlled Congress can, but won't, undo almost everything that Obama has done.

It must be terrible to go through each day with such a totally negative attitude.

Ebola is an easy win for any sane legislature: they pass bills restricting access to the country and the president and the opposition are forced to either sign them or take the heat.

Why should Obama move an inch when he can sit back while progressive Republicans and the MSM carpet bomb conservatives? We’ve seen this movie before. It has a bad ending.

With McConnell & Boehner running the GOP the next two years won’t be any different than the last 4.

The republican position on everything is either “well it’s too late, law of the land. What can we do?” or “The American people want us to compromise and work together. Its time to put politics aside and compromise (i.e. vote the democrat agenda) for the good of the country”. They stink.

I love how “deep trouble” means some are down 2 or 3 points, unless they are down by 10 they are still within the margin of fraud.

Another poll today shows “Nunn” of GA in a one-point lead there.

RE :’It won’t be fun looking forward to the State Of The Union address next year.”

When do we look forward to that ??

Given Dems will get a lickin this year Obama will go full steam again afterward to get the focus off of him and on congress again.

Expect more demands, more whining, more lectures, more arrogance. Anything to get the MSM on to congress again.

It remains to be seen if he will be successful.

I bet the American people don’t in any way see a connection between their “friendly” Democrat and any dreaded disease.

I agree with you. Judges are very important as is the fact that there are a lot more Pubbies up for Senate re-election in 2016 than Dims (the reverse of this year). IMHO we need to get in what we can this year as 2016 could be challenging. That said, I’d love it if our House elected Gohmert or Gowdy as the Speaker and the Senate elected Jeff Sessions, Mike Lee or Ted Cruz as the Majority Leader (though I’d like to see Cruz as President in 2017, so maybe not him as Senate Leader).

Well, that's the same exact situation we found ourselves in early 2001. We won all branches of government, but then kept on executing big-statist policy. That's true even WITHOUT 9/11 to affect the path of policy (Medicare part D, for example).

While democrats will respond to poll when it comes time to vote history says a lot of them will be in a “what difference does it make” funk and sit out the election!!

With a GOP-controlled Congress, and sufficiently controlled, we do not care who the President is, at least insofar as legislation.

This election is about stopping the Democrats from doing any more damage.
