DSCC Goes Dark in Kentucky
Roll Call ^

Posted on 10/14/2014 11:28:22 AM PDT by sunmars

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has gone dark in Kentucky, where the party is targeting Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

After a significant investment in support of Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, the DSCC had not reserved time for the final three weeks of the race and, as of today, is no longer on the air.

“The DSCC has now spent more than 2 million in Kentucky and continues to make targeted investments in the ground game while monitoring the race for future investments, but is currently not on the air in the state,” a DSCC official told CQ Roll Call.

McConnell has held small but consistent leads in nearly every recent public poll.

As it seeks to keep Republicans from picking up six seats and the Senate majority, the DSCC’s independent expenditure unit may see a better opportunity in Georgia, where it just purchased significant advertising time.

Yep, you got it.

That’;s exactly how they think. What is there to be gained from pouring more money into KY when the GOP candidate may give them most of what they are seeking?

If McConnell is not Senate Majority Leader or even Senate Minority Leader, there’s a risk in who might replace him.

Already some prominent republicans have stated that McConnell’s tactics will be reviewed if things don’t go according to plan meaning McConnell could be forced out.

You will never get any story but “the democrats are doing fine” out of the media. But still, reading between the lines as one has to do, it seems that the dems are rushing from one race to the next trying to find the “one” that will keep the Senate. Today, Kansas, tomorrow Kentucky, the next day Georgia, then South Dakota. I dunno, seems that when you are hanging your hat on Georgia it is not a good sign for them, tightening race or not.

Didn’t Tokyo Rove predict McConnell would lose last Sunday?

Yes, and after 2012, Rove's predictions simply should not be listened to.

Dang it!! I was hoping they would spend more money! Wonder why they haven’t pulled away from the Davis campaign in TExas. Talk about a loser!

It's a win-win situation for the RATS in KY.

It's a lose-lose for US.

I’d like to say Rove was trying to trick them but I’m sure that’s not the case. Then again it was an odd prediction.

The Democrats are still spending lots of money in Kansas where they don’t even have a candidate on the ballot for the U.S. Senate. Orman, of course, is an Independent, and may caucus with the Republicans after spending all of that Soros money getting elected.

...when the GOP candidate may give them most of what they are seeking?

I do not even like McConnell, but some of y'all are just getting ridiculous. Please explain to me how a man with a 96% ACU rating is some sort of flaming leftist.

Someone needs to ask her “so, do you REALLY expect us to believe that you voted for McCain?”

No, he didn’t, Joe Trippi said it was possible.

The RATS have zero chance in KY or GA.

Wow, with most of the public polls showing a neck and neck race, in fact the RCP average is McConnell +3, and the Dems now pulling support, it makes one wonder what the honest polling says. Honest polls meaning the campaign’s internal polls on which the various strategies are based. It seems the dems are pulling money and support in many races that the public polling shows a close race.

monitoring the race for future investments - at least they're honest that government is an investment for Democrats and they expect a big payback.

ACU Ratings are misleading.

Look at McDonnell’s real record here and note how duplicitous he is:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3214918/posts?page=10#10

I wish to ‘like’ Mitch McConnell but now I know how deceitful he is. He knows how to game the system. He even knows how not to vote for cloture if he thinks the votes are already there. He’s sneaky and crafty and not in a good way for conservatives but against conservatives.

When we become wise and aware in politics, we see who is bought and paid for. McConnell is completely bought off and controlled and he plays games to appear conservative.

What McConnell will do in the Senate is to find a way to cram Amnesty through by crafting a ‘compromise’ which has some verbiage about border first, border security and other such rubbish. Then as has been done in the past the illegals will be legalized and the border provisions abandoned. But don’t worry his ‘ACU Rating’ will look good.

Hang around and learn a bit. In time you will see the real McConnell come through. I know it’s not easy to go against what is considered the home team but this home team whose first string is the GOP establishment is willing to sell out to K Street donors as long as they get their slice of the action. After awhile you will find that does not mean you unless you can bring voters to them or $$$. In both cases your honor and integrity will be compromised and you will lose your followers and likely your money. Then you will look to conservatives that have been through the same experience and will start to loathe the establishment boys and girls on both sides of the aisle.
