Karl Rove: GOP Will Take Over Senate - Barely (Rove predicts McConnell will lose) !

GOP strategist Karl Rove is predicting nine states will flip from Democrat to Republican in the November 4 Senate elections, but he's also predicting three will go the other way.

If he's right, that would still give Republicans control of the Senate by the slimmest of margins — 51-49.

Appearing on "Fox News Sunday," Rove listed his predictions for Republican pickups — from most- to least-likely — as Montana, West Virginia, South Dakota, Alaska, Louisiana, Arkansas, Iowa, Colorado and North Carolina.

His predictions for GOP losses were Kansas, Georgia and Kentucky.

Rove predicted a "barn burner" in South Dakota, where Republican Mike Rounds leads Democrat Rick Weiland and independent Larry Pressler in a three-way race. In the end, Rove predicts Rounds will prevail.

Democratic operative Joe Trippi admitted that the races in Alaska, Louisiana and Arkansas all are "moving in the wrong direction for Democrats." All three, see incumbents below what Trippi said is the magical number of 45 percent.

"If you're under 50 it's a problem if you're an incumbent," Trippi said. "Undecideds are either going to stay home or break away from the incumbents in these races."

Trippi sees a similar problem for Republican Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts, sitting at 42.3 percent, according to Real Clear Politics. His challenger, independent Greg Orman, has 44.7 percent

Rove was also quoted in 2000 saying that there was no there would be a split between the Electoral College and the popular vote.

He warned that Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell, a Republican.... might be ousted.

I loathe Mitch McConnell. But, after the horrible week Grimes had this week..... no way he’s going to lose. First of all there is James O’Keefe’s video of her campaign workers saying she lied about being Pro-coal just to get elected. Then, her refusal to admit she voted for Obama, when everyone knows she did, made her look like a fool. How in the world could Joe Trippi (it wasn’t Karl Rove) think McConnell is going to lose? No way!

That is a link to an old article (August 30th). The Supreme Court of MS decided to hear his case; didn’t they?

He’s lost his mind. McConnell has been ahead in virtually 99%+ of public polls. Perdue/Nunn likely goes to runoff. He’s being way too bullish on some and ridiculously perilous on others.

I think we’ve learned not to listen to this RINO moron.

I hope he’s right about Iowa. I want, so badly, for Joni to defeat that jerk, Bruce Braley. What scares me is 119,000 early votes have already been cast in Iowa. That’s NEVER good for Conservatives.

I want as few Democrats as possible in the Senate. Even if the Republicans have a majority after the 2014 election, they will have a hard time holding on to the majority in 2016.

Ideally McConnell would win and would step aside for someone else to be Majority Leader. Maybe if he would promise to do so he could coast to victory over Grimes.

It’s going to take huge, huge popular demand (on the order of what a Jesse Jackson can muster, but on a conservative bent) to get our modern Napoleons to listen.

If Grimes wins, it has to be one of the first endorsements of BJ Clinton to actually triumph.
BJ’s batting average for endorsements is almost as bad as Baraq’s.

I detest McConnell, but he lucked out by drawing a complete moonbat dilettante opponent in Grimes

Yes, my feelings also. Grimes is an arrogant moonbat who is running an embarrassingly bad campaign (although it is entertaining to watch).

I believe Harry's bitch will scrape by this time....but he will do it without my vote.

Why doesn’t the rino party put up another “winning” candidate? Yeah, they’re so interested in winning elections.

"The Supreme Court of MS decided to hear his case; didn’t they?"

Yes, I believe that they did. However, conservative candidates still need a "heads up" to prevent such a possible worst-case scenario from happening next month.

Rove predicted NC as a win for Republicans???? I will be surprised if this happens. I live in NC and we are sick of folks like Rove trying to cram Rino candidates down our throat.

Karl Rove muscled aside conservatives - whether he’s right or wrong - couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy.
