So, I just saw on CNN yet another medical "expert", this time a lady, who continues, when asked about a "travel ban" for East Africa, to state emphatically that a ban will not prevent people infected with Ebola from existing in the US with Ebola. She went on to say that, as a result of a travel ban, we would not be able to stamp out Ebola in East Africa.
Pray tell, have I completely lost all remnants of any clear thinking, or is this complete nonsense? First of all, medical "experts" continue to conflate a travel ban with our inability to help in Africa, as though the only way medical assistance could get there is on commercial airliners. Clearly, military transports could be used to fly medical personnel and supplies in and out, and, most importantly, under controlled circumstances.
Also, why do the "experts" on TV continue to claim that a travel ban would not prevent people with Ebola from entering the US? Just in the last hours, it has been reported that in Boston a man who was recently in Liberia was being taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Why is there no explanation of what flight path this patient took to end up in the US? Was this a direct flight, and, if not, what was the path? This is exceedingly frustrating and about to drive me crazy.
You all forget the first rule of liberalism.....the agenda comes first, regardless the cost.
Open borders and unrestricted migration are the core principles of today’s socialists.
Nothing can stand in the way....not even a few thousand deaths among the peons.
“No force on earth can stop us.”
I disagree. If Obola gets a foothold it will hit the hardest in large urban areas, public housing and low income earners and migrant communities.
Taking out a large portion of the demon rat voting base.
Would that be an African or a European swallow?
The Ebola virus is devastating West Africa, not East Africa.
East Africa, through the lineage of the current president of the United States, is devastating us.
Human biological weapons.
I believe you are correct. In their twisted world view, liberals believe that a cure for Ebola will come quicker if Americans and Europeans are infected so that they are forced to focus on the disease and indirectly help West Africans out.
No, sorry. WEST Africa.
Yeah the urbanites live on top of each other and seldom go for more than a few hours without fairly close contact with each other. Sewer and water systems are all interconnected.
I regularly go several days without contact with another person.
Deny the antecedent. Just HOW would any stricken nation be harmed by prohibiting flights HERE?
Let’s think about what China, Saudi, India, Australia, and Russia are doing. There are no cases in any of those places, are there?
Anybody beyond first grade can see it’s easier to contain something in a smaller area than a larger area.
We are being led either by idiots or some one willfully tryin to greatly diminish the strength of the country.
Pretty sure they don’t want a cure for Ebola.
Pretty sure they want Ebola to cure humanity.
Politics trumps logic.
Crippling America is the goal. Whatever it takes to get there.
A travel ban would be raciss. If Israel were hit with an Ebola epidemic, does anyone have any doubts on how quickly a travel ban would be enacted for Israelis?
Well said. But potentially, that figure is a few tens or even hundreds of million. But I don't suppose that would faze them either, would it?
All of the TV experts say that a quarantine is necessary.
Yet what is flight stoppage from west Africa except another form of quarantine? Not doing so will kill people here.
These people know better. I think it comes down to pride; they have staked out their position and cannot admit their error, no matter how ghastly the error.
Pride precedeth the fall.
A travel ban would be raciss. If Israel were hit with an Ebola epidemic, does anyone have any doubts on how quickly a travel ban would be enacted for Israelis?
Oh my, well said.
