Still smokin' and NOT ashamed despite mothers shielding their children's eyes lest they observe an evil smoking veteran. I know(think) there will be plenty (or not) comments on this one.

NO MORE NANNYISM!
men who smoke have far less chance of "contracting" prostrate cancer...and a list of other ailments...
the governemtns concern for our "health"...remains...

No smoking, but it’s okay to take it in the rear.

Smoking NAZI’s aren’t restricting smoking to save smokers, they’re doing it because they hate smokers. BTW, I don’t smoke, but I don’t hate smokers.

I have no problem with this.
The taxpayers - current and future - pay for military health care.
Fewer smokers mean costs go down, plus, healthier human beings and families.

Very hard. It’s odious that we expect our fighters to be in top physical shape, but then provide them discounted drugs that are detrimental to their fitness.

This from the same organization that, in the past, made sure everyone had all the smokes they wanted. Get off this politically correct bs and let our warriors smoke if they want. Cancer is not a great concern for those who are tagets

Every MRE should come with two or three Camels.
If ya don't smoke 'em, they're good for barter and poker games.

When I served in the Navy, untaxed “sea stores” cigarettes sold on shipboard for one dollar a carton. In some foreign ports you could sell a pack of Camels (fancy U.S. imports, dont’cha know) for a quarter! Sell a few packs, there’s your beer money.

Sounds like the son of a bit@h coming out with this policy has never been shelled and had their shaking hands calmed afterward by a cigarette.

I smoked for almost 60 years, but when I was in the Army {civil war era... 1959-1962} a CARTON of Camels in Germany at the PX was $ .90, YEP, NINETY CENTS for 200 Camel cigarettes.
They could then be traded for many favors from the local wymen {if one was so inclined}, I, however, never indulged in such debauchery.

Our ship's store ran out of smokes during our last deployment. People were paying $20 a pack from those fellow sailors who were smart enough to stock up in Dubai, Oman and Bahrain (where an entire carton of Marlboros sold for $20).
This is what'll happen if the ships stop selling smokes.
Personally, I think it's a moot point. I fully expect the U.S. Navy to ban smoking on ships in the near future. Most of the sailors I serve with have turned to vaping anyways.
