I smoked for almost 60 years, but when I was in the Army {civil war era... 1959-1962} a CARTON of Camels in Germany at the PX was $ .90, YEP, NINETY CENTS for 200 Camel cigarettes.

They could then be traded for many favors from the local wymen {if one was so inclined}, I, however, never indulged in such debauchery.

Could buy them in Berlin in 1991 for $3.00 a carton. I thought *that* was good :)
