Interesting stuff from our government on some web page.
Seems so much different than what’s spread by the media and government talking heads
The answer to the question about spreading by sneezing or coughing is quite convoluted. It’s like they were trying to “bury the lede”. The simple answer is: “Yes, you can catch it, if an infected person sneezes or coughs directly on you.” So, it’s not as contagious as ordinary flu — but, it’s possibly a lot more contagious than we were being led to believe, until quite recently.

A link to this thread has been posted on the Ebola Surveillance Thread
I just do not trust the CDC at all because back in the 1995 outbreak it was widely reported that Ebola was airborne now it is denied that it ever was now.
Whatever you do don’t have sex with the white house gorilla.
The other gem in here is that we have 2,000 survivors who are immune for a decade or more. Why are they not being paid generously to transport and provide hands-on care for the sick? They would inspire confidence and save the lives of doctors and nurses who could stand back a little and coach the survivor/caregivers.
Just how dumb does our government think we are?
Ebola can’t be transmitted by a sneeze? BULLSHIT!
What is the difference in kissing someone with Ebola on the lips (exchanging spit) and a sneeze that sprays their spit (a bodily fluid) on you or an object you will pick up.
If you believe this forget about a bridge for sale in New York and start to believe Obama is the greatest president we have ever had.
Two mutually exclusive claims.
FACT: Sex can spread the virus.
There are the different strains, at least 4 or 5.
This current one that is dangerous is Zaire.
There is/was the mild one, Reston for yes, Reston Va.
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
There is absolutely nothing to worry about!
There is no evidence that mosquitos or other insects can transmit Ebola virus. Only mammals (for example, humans, bats, monkeys and apes) have shown the ability to spread and become infected with Ebola virus.
They didn't say "no".
So that means, at least, they don't know and nobody has ruled it out.
Is this being researched by our CDC? If not, why not?
“Unlike respiratory illnesses like measles or chickenpox, which can be transmitted by virus particles that remain suspended in the air after an infected person coughs or sneezes, Ebola is transmitted by direct contact with body fluids of a person who has symptoms of Ebola disease.”
This is an idiot inference. “Remain suspended”—a cough emits particle into the air that do not “remain” suspended, but sure as hell can transmit Ebola. So all this chatter about “airborne” is splitting hairs on definitions.
Place those cough particulates in an environment of moving air, and the suspension can be extended. Airplane ventilation is a perfect example.
So while not technically defined as an “airborne” transmitted problem, Ebola can without a doubt be transmitted airborne!!!
