What's more alarming than the disease is what the crisis says about our lack of trust in U.S. institutions and leaders.
Doctors at a Texas hospital unwittingly release an Ebola-infected man. The hospital blames a flaw in the electronic health records system and then backtracks: The doctors blew it.
The home shared by the Liberian man and four people is a nest of infectious materials, where cleanup was delayed by more than a week due to a bureaucratic snafu. State health department officials apologize.
In Liberia, the U.S. assistance President Obama promised several weeks ago has been slow to arrive, according to The New York Times, "and logistical glitches have prevented the United States military from being able to quickly set up the hospitals and treatment centers needed to halt the virus." The general in command says it will take "several weeks" before the U.S. military is fully responsive to the months-old crisis.
Once again, Americans are reminded of the limits of U.S. social institutions in this case various state, local and federal government agencies and private-sector health systems that responded to the Ebola crisis slowly, inefficiently, and with a lack of candor that Americans, unfortunately, have come to expect...

The ambulance chasers are licking their chops...it will be a target rich environment for them.
BTW: The scariest thing about Ebola is how it liquefies your whole body.
What Fournier is complaining about is that people don’t trust Hussein Obola as they should.
The Scariest Thing About Ebola Is Barack Obama.
*click* spin *click* spin *click* spin BANG!
Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!
Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
The scariest thing about Ebola is the stupidity and dishonesty of the country in which it is occurring, not to mention that country’s proximity to me.
And I do not just mean government officials.
I would be surprised at all of 90% or more of America’s population had no idea at all that any of this is even occurring.
Obama is a virus. Opinions differ on whether a virus is a form of life that interacts with living organisms. Viruses are not beneficial. Viruses invade a host cell causing it to make copies of itself and destroy the host cell in the process. Viruses are the simplest life form known. Viruses require hosts in order to survive, not being able to survive on their own. All viruses are harmful.
It's no wonder Obama makes many of us sick. He's a virus.
If someone from the government told me that tomorrow the sun would rise in the east I couldn’t honestly believe them. The lying has been so pervasive that all trust is gone except for the trust printed on our coins.
Reminding be of the cartoons showing four teens sitting at a table, texting each other rather than talking.
But, first, we must acknowledge the virtues of Ebola. Ebola is a virus of peace, a virus dedicated to fairness, and equality, and humanity. No genuine Ebola virus would wantonly kill journalists and innocent children. What we are witnessing is the perversion of a great virus. We will offer support moderate strains of the Ebola virus to isolate and eliminate this perverted strain of Ebola.
“That’s why I am opening unilateral negotiations with the Ebolan leadership!” -Brak Ubama.
“There is not a single agency under him that is working as it should.”

Worse yet, I’m afraid that in all too many cases we would be WORSE OFF if they DID work as they should.
Epic.
You win the internet for the day.
and then moving the infected-like family to a gated community
“I would be surprised at all of 90% or more of Americas population had no idea at all that any of this is even occurring.”
I was at Costco early last week and got some more bleach, nitrile gloves, etc. I was in today (sale on Lysol, Baby wipes, etc.) As I was wandering around I thought everyone’s carts would be full of that kind of stuff. Nope.
Although there still were mobs of people around the food sample tables. I wonder when that will stop?
Also Ebola is “social justice” killing off poor people like Liberal dependency programs do.
The amazing way the press is still covering for THIS President, or any conservative (formerly Republican) President. Just sickening.
And yet, it wasn’t Obama who misled the public about Saddam Hussein or the Vietnam War or Watergate. The trust deficit runs deeper than one president or even the presidency. While vast economic, social and technological changes buffet the lives of most Americans, those institutions that are supposed to shield people are failing to adapt.
I expect it will stop if a full blown outbreak occurs in this country.
People will stop socializing altogether, and the economy will crash hard and fast.
We could arrive in the 3rd world inside of a month.
Anyone else notice the returning healthcare workers got extremely proper, protocol adhering, EXPENSIVE care and the poor souls in Dallas got slipshod, afterthought, CRAPPY care?
It is the future of healthcare...people who count and people who don’t count. Right now liberals are in charge of our healthcare, and spending more money than is imaginable for the greatest treatment in the world, but only for people who count. Obamacare will be just like the rest of this administrations failures, as long as your one of the people who count...
