GOPe: Let's Have It Out. Will You Support Cruz?
Self | 10/02/2014 | Uncle Miltie

The GOPe wing of Free Republic requires that the Conservative wing of Free Republic swallow our distaste for their Democrat-Lite Karl Rove Approved (TM) candidates in order to win seats labeled (R) at the expense of conservative principle.

Okay, let's put the shoe on the other foot: If Ted Cruz is winning 45% of the Republican vote in early primaries, will you require your Karl Rove Approved (TM) candidate withdraw and unreservedly throw your support behind the winning candidate Ted Cruz?

Slightly differently stated, are you primarily interested in beating Democrats or Conservatism?

Poppycock. If you nominate Chris Christie and you expect me to gleefully spit on all my principles for your beloved Party you are the one being a 3 yr. old. He and his liberal ilk are just that pure liberals, because they have an R in front of their name doesn’t mean they are worthy of being voted for.

For the record I support Cruz-Gowdy 2016.

But I nevertheless believe the following is true.

1. Tea Party > GOPe >> Any Democrat

This is opposed to the more commonly held equation

2. GOPe = Democrat

If you are a 2 then you should, for the sake of your mental health, give up forever any hope of a non-Democrat Senate Majority.

Im a 1. I want a GOP Senate.

One of the more interesting realizations I’ve recently had about this issue, is this:

If a staunch conservative were to capture the nomination, virtually 100% of registered Republicans would give them their vote.

If another RINO wins the nomination, they might draw 80% of the same vote.

Knowing that this is the undeniable, immutable truth of the eventual outcome, WHY do the GOP-e and their apologists continue to insist upon paving the way forward for another Democrat-Lite candidate?

Are they determined to lose to the Dems again?

No Romney, no Bush, no Cristie, no Ryan and no Paul!!

Sure wish you'd take a moment to have a 'word' with their sycophants and apologists on this site.

Well, the Republican Establishment types have a track record by which they can be judged.

Post-Eisenhower, there have only been two legitimate conservative nominees.

- Goldwater was thrown under the bus.

- They only played ball with Reagan AFTER he agreed to allow their preferred candidate (GHWBush) to join the ticket.

It’s already been demonstrated that they are willing to lose an election rather than allow a conservative to run things.

I liked Paul but Paul seems to have swallowed the GOPe kool-aid.

I think Rand's been drinking Purple Drank, myself. He's that far off the reservation.

The rub is that you’re going to get more of what you vote for.

Don’t like RINOs? Quit voting for them and they’ll go extinct.

“But, at what point do you break the trend?”

Simply put if Cruz isn’t the nominee running there is no way I will vote for any damned Democrat, and that means I will vote.

As the establishment GOP shifts leftward, when do you stop simply casting votes their way simply because there is that (R) next to their name on the ballot?

Of course, but for who? Would you cast your vote for a more conservative candidate of a third party? A write-in? How much excrement from the leftward bound GOPe are you willing to gobble down?

Yeah, Paul out smarted himself. When elected he had the “grass roots” then he realized (or thought) he would never get the nomination without the GOPe so he sold out. Cruz on the other hand stood tall and fought for conservative values. Cruz has made a few mistakes but no one doubts that he is the real deal. Paul not so much.

There’s a common error that often crops up in the quest for an open discussion. It’s the framing of the debate. If you’re not careful, you concede too much to your opponent before the discussion even begins.

For instance, since when is Karl Rove a Democrat Lite?

Why even debate if he’s Democrat Lite or not?

Simply discuss his far Left of center actions, and the fact that he belongs in the Democrat party, not in any body related to Conservatism.

This guy is a full blown Democrat. He and his supporters won’t admit it, but the guy has short circuited far more Conservative candidates and Conservative policies than any of today’s leading Democrats.

Why? Because he was in a position to disarm the rank and file Conservatives, and destroy their ability to coalesce around sound people and policies.

Rove is probably the biggest enemy of Conservatism there is today. Yes, I’m serious.

Feel free to put a more exacting conservative question to the g.o.p.e. Unless you would prefer to declare yourself g.o.p.e. bitter ender here and now.

You, on the other hand, didn’t I visit you just this summer in the Loire?

If YOU are trying to corral me, knock it off. I will not vote for a damned Democrat period. That means I will control my vote by voting.
