I have never been a prophecy buff, but in order to understand the middle east and the actions and motivations, we have to take the actors at their word. ISIS may be a lot of evil things, but they don't seem to be liers. They will tell you why they do things very plainly, it is up to us to listen. ISIS, and many other muslims including the former president of Iran, are convinced that they are in the last days, and the islamic apcolypse is imminent. I cannot dismiss ISIS's reasons for acting just because I do not have the same motivations.

The important thing is that we do not decieve ourselves, or let ourselves be decieved. Obama and our leadership telling us that ISIS is not islamic is severe incompetance at best, willful deception at worst. It does not matter at all what Obama thinks of ISIS and their motives. It only matters what ISIS thinks of themselves.

We are in a period much like the rise of Hitler, where anyone who wanted to know the future and Hitler's intensions could just read his book and accepted what he wrote as an honest claim of his beliefs and what he would do once he got into power. Every other leader in Europe however, exhausted from WWI, preferred deliberately not seeing him for what he was. We should not make the same mistake here. Just take ISIS and their statements seriously, and we will understand them.

Very interesting. I’m not into prophecies, either, but whether I am or not, the Muslims are, and they are clearly getting and giving messages through all of this...which we are completely ignoring, either out of ignorance or out of the stupid idea that nobody could believe these things anymore.

Well, they do. And I think we are going to see more activity from Turkey, which has never given up on the Ottoman Empire. Turkey, the “Sick Man of Europe,” but maybe we didn’t realize exactly how sick.

including the former president of Iran,

The twelvers are the real threat in Iran. Without them, Iran is fundamentalist but not particularly agressive. Unfortunately Obama chose to ignore the attempt to drive them from power a few years ago.

Given a choice of a world without Shi'ites and a world without Sunnis, I'll happily take the world without Sunnis.

I beg to disagree! It is up to us to melt the sands of northern Iraq and Syria.

The Battle of Marj Dābiq (Arabic: مرج دابق‎) as we all learned as children was the most decisive military clash in Middle Eastern history (1516 AD) near the town of Dabiq, 44 km north of Aleppo, Syria between the Ottoman Empire and the Mamluk Sultanate.

Half-millernial anniversary in less than two years.

there is no secret master plan - everyone of these Islamists are crystal clear about what they want to do. They all want to re-establish the Caliphate. That is when Arab civilization was at its height. It is their wet dream. And what we need to realize is that you can't re-establish the Caliphate without Baghdad which is why Iraq is the key to the war against Islamism.

Secondly, we need to realize that Islamism is really disguised Arab nationalism. If you want to weaken the Islamists you need to point out to Moslems who are not Arabs (e.g. the Chechens and the Somalis and the Nigerians and the Afghans and the Indonesians) that they are being used by the Arabs to re-establish an Arab Empire, not a Moslem Empire. The Caliphate as envisaged by Al Qaeda and ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood will be run by Arabs for Arabs.

“It does not matter at all what Obama thinks of ISIS and their motives. It only matters what ISIS thinks of themselves.”

Amen!
Here in OKC, we’re hearing authorities from Moore, the suburb directly south of us, tell us that the beheading at the Vaughhn Foods site on Thursday was “workplace violence” and not associated with Islam... despite the fact that the perp was trying to convert co-workers to Islam, was fired after an argument re: stoning women according to Sharia law, and was shouting Islamic phrases as he beheaded his first victim and began stabbing his second.

It does not matter at all what Obama or Kerry or any spokesman or anyone else thinks of jihad adherents and their motives- lone wolves or not. It only matters what they think of themselves.

I posted weeks ago that the promise of true Islam and the fulfilment of prophecy are the primary recruitment tools of ISIS. Unless we admit the true problem we cannot hope for a solution.

They certainly believe fervently if fanatically.

This involves supernatural entities that we are more familiar with as devils.

May the Lord set many people free from this vicious hate that Satan teaches.

Is this translated from farsi or something? Hardest damn thing to read I ever saw. All of these rants by some former rag head are hard to read. It attempts to be scholarly and flowery and comes out as BS.

Hard to get the message. Nothing muzzie rings to the western mind.

I’ve never trusted the Turks. I think they are mostly deceptive perverts.

I accept that we are at war with Islam.
